I've just come across this video of Alethea Parker, an amazingly strong and positive lady who contracted Legionnaire's Disease. One thing she says that really hit me is that if you're staying at a B&B or hotel then make sure you run the shower for 5 minutes before you get in.
Legionella bacteria live in stagnant water and with the shower spray they become airborne. If you've ever wondered why we need to carry out Legionella Risk Assessments in rental properties, it's for ...exactly that reason, water can stagnate between tenancies and become a breeding ground.
