Belvoir Sawmill once again proud to sponsor Melton Mowbray YFC ladies Tug Of War team last weekend. They took on 7 of the best pro teams in the country and came away with a 2nd place finish. Well done girls and good luck in the national YFC finals in 3 weeks time.

UK grown Larch is the the order of the day at Belvoir Sawmill. Seen here from breakdown of the log by our SERRA Sawmills Africa 135 horizontal band mill, then on to our Stenner 105 re-saw and finally trimmed to length at the cross cut saw and packed for delivery. These pieces will form the cladding on part of our customers home, but Larch has is a versatile timber with many uses. So if you can dream it up we will have a go at cutting it for you! 😊🌲🔨

A big bit of Oak being cut to length here, this beam measured 12”x12” (300mmx300mm). This piece along with 2 others the same size, are to be used as a door frame in a new project at at a well known Garden centre in Rutland. Keep your eyes peeled! 👀

Just a few of the products coming out of the mill today, 200mm x 50mm Oak sleepers, 150mm x 32mm Larch Decking and 175mm Larch Feather edge cladding boards. All cut right here at Belvoir Sawmill.

Cutting Sweet Chestnut decking boards with out SERRA Sawmills XE135 horizontal bandsaw mill. Sweet Chestnut is a good alternative to Oak, with similar properties at a lower price point.
