About Bema
University of Birmingham Black & Ethnic Minorities' Association (BEMA)
Bema Description
Welcome to the BEMA Facebook page!
BEMA exists to promote the interests and well being of BME ('Black and Minority Ethnic') students of African, Arab, Asian (Central, Southern, Eastern), Caribbean and Indigenous American descent on campus.
We seek to raise awareness about issues affecting BME students, often working with BME-led student societies and local groups.
We also hold a variety of cultural and political events in and around campus, including an Alternative Freshers Week, Black History Month events, Imperialism Awareness Week, Bollywood movie nights, workshops, performance events and more.
