Benji The Dog Walker Description
My name is Benji, I’m 27 and a certified dog First Aider. I’m currently studying as a Student Paramedic and have been a caring dog owner all my life.
I’m “dad” to a 2 year old Dachshund (sausage dog) called Clara who is a bit of a character but very lovely and quite obedient, for a daxie!
Together Clara and I attended 12 weeks of puppy classes and dog training school with trainer Debbie Peters, from School4dogs. Debbie teaches the benefits of training dogs through positive reinforcement and refraining from any aggressive forms of discipline. I really value her training and have found my appreciation for the emotions and learning experiences of dogs growing because of it.
I believe that every experience, whether it be meeting new people or just walking on the lead, is a valuable addition to a dog’s training. So I make sure the dogs I care for have the chance to practice good behaviour and to benefit from walking on the lead, meeting other dogs and playing games in the park.
It is important to continuously work on your dog’s training. Whether this is through keeping a routine or by regular sessions of obedience training, it is vital to reinforce good behaviour with positive experiences.
I am passionate about dogs; they have evolved to form a voluntarily symbiotic relationship with humans and are able to experience and share every complicated emotion that we can. Their love is unconditional, their loyalty is unfailing and despite getting to know them for years and years they never cease to surprise you.
So that you can stay in touch with your dog’s activities, we send a summary of the route, distance traveled and duration using MapMyWalk.
And you can follow the blog for updates, photos and stories of what the dogs get up to on their adventures.
