The Reading Health Visiting service ran the first Saturday health review clinic on 8th June. The nursery nurses rolled out a new model of delivering the health review in a group setting, allowing parents to become more involved.
Feedback from parents was very positive and included: "Both parents preferred the new model reporting, they felt the old model sitting at desks made the parents feel like they were being judged, they enjoyed sitting together and the child having the opportunity to socialise with other children during the appointment. They liked the option of a Saturday clinic as this enabled both parents to attend."
Our team completed a total of 7 health reviews. The picture shows the team that volunteered to work. We are looking forward to our next Saturday clinic on 6th July.

Talking Therapies are busy raising money to support a team member, who unfortunately following complications at the birth of her second child, had to have both of her legs amputated.
Priya Kalyanker works as a CBT Therapist in Slough for Talking Therapies and gave birth to her second child, Ana, in March this year. Priya is making remarkable progress and is now home and doing well, but there is a long road ahead to recovery.
Priya’s family have set up a GoFundMe page to help support the cost of alterations that are needed in the house, and Talking Therapies colleagues have already raised over £300 with a cake sale at Fitzwilliam House. They are now planning to run the Park Run on Saturday 22nd June in Bracknell, if you would like to sponsor the team, please visit: http://socsi.in/SeT4G.

Are you working with a carer who is supporting a loved one affected by psychosis?
During #CarersWeek, we would like to actively promote a study available to people who provide caring support for a loved one with psychosis. The study aims to find out if an online resource, COPe-support, works to improve carers’ wellbeing and how well they cope with caring. We are inviting all carers supporting a loved one affected by psychosis to join our study. Carers can be parents, partner...s, siblings, other relatives or close friends.
The study is running in the Trust until February 2020, and carers would be joining the October cohort. If you’d like to find out more, please visit: http://socsi.in/xhZFc or contact research@berkshire.nhs.uk

This week is #CarersWeek - this is an annual campaign that aims to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
East Berkshire and Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), together with Signal for Bracknell Forest Carers, have launched a Berkshire wide phone line on 0800 1337851, offering support & information, for those who maybe looking after someone. Many people who carry out caring responsibilities do not recognise themselves as carers, but may benefit from some support and could be unaware of the help available to them. *Important* Our voicemail in East Berkshire Mobility service (St Marks Hospital) has been down since last week. Any voicemails that are left cannot be listened to. We ask all patients calling in to not leave messages for the time being and to call the number again if not answered the first time so a member of the team can help you.
