There’s this saying that ‘Every Night is Saturday Night’. We’ve all heard it, more so, we all want to believe it. The dark, pulsating, and vibrant Blues & Jazz clubs around the world have always seemed to offer just that. Take for example New York’s Cotton Club where on any given day the likes of Duke Ellington would serenade the willing folk, or even Le Caveau de la Huchette in Paris, the 16th century hideaway home to many a weeknight Saturday. The latter went on the inspire a little known club called the Cavern in our very city. This is how impactful music is to the soul, so it’s no coincidence that you’ll hear Blues & Jazz if you put your ear to our door. That’s because in Berry & Rye, every night IS a Saturday night.

Hats off to the team at Cocktails In The City for bringing some of Liverpool’s best bars together and putting them under one roof.
The event begins this Friday and we couldn’t recommend it more. To see the work that goes on behind the scenes to get this thing running is incredible. However, all you need to know is our drinks taste great and you’re all invited back to ours for afters! (Someone say cheeky midnight cheeseboard?).

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is Mike, our Head Bartender. Some of you may have had the privilege of Mike making you a drink, something he takes a lot of care and pride in doing. He always puts your needs before his, a quality rare to find. He also sports Liverpool’s best moustache since 80s Souness.
Today is Mikes 30th Birthday. That’s a pretty special one, but if we know Mike he’ll play it down and act as if it’s just another day. Classically understated.

Since we first opened our doors we’ve been lucky enough to have had a loyal following, each guest gracing us with unique stories, each one as important as the next.
In our eyes, you only need one visit to be a regular. We always want to be on a first name basis before you’ve even had a sip of your drink - that way you’ve got nothing left to tell us but your stories. Upon one of your visits you may have had the opportunity to sit on Table 12, the little old sewing machine wit...h two drawers built in. Ring a bell?
For years these drawers have been getting filled with messages of love, appreciation, laughter, and insightfulness. Each one is different, some written on the back of a receipt, some scrawled on a bus ticket, some so old they’ve almost faded away.
The picture below of Laura and Ben epitomises our endearing regulars and one of those little old drawers - both crammed full of stories.

Really like this place , always manage to get in , nice staff, friendly , never gets to loud/rowdy, nice drinks , great place to get away from the crowds of hen/stag nights concert square etc.

Professional alcohol services no matter cocktail or whiskey! The best one I had been so far in Liverpool.

Classic cocktails in a down town NY style speak-easy bar. The atmosphere gives the impression we're back in the twenties with us fervently looking at the door everyone someone comes hoping it's not a bust!

Dillnger and Capone would feel at home here!
