Went to hull Berts tonight for a family meal and we loved it. Service was fast, staff brilliant especially Amanda really can’t fault it.

We went early Sunday evening for pizza after popping in for a drink a few days earlier. It was lovely, the staff, food and ambience was all great - definitely recommend but book so you’re not disappointed 👍

There’s pizza then there’s really nice pizza, really modern establishment great view of the boating lake, staff are friendly and great for families. Just remember to book beforehand as it gets full quickly.

The food here is amazing the mushroom bruschetta was my favourite part of meal wasn’t waiting ages the girl that was on last night was really lovely very helpful on what was on the menu we love berts a great little place to eat xxx are I open for Christmas � dinner ������������

I have visited both Berts Brandesburton and Berts Hull and absolutely love both! Staff are always so friendly and food is always great. Love the new Italian style of Berts in Hull. Loved the snickers gelato too! Will be visiting again soon.

Had a lovely Friday night treat tea. The food was beautiful and the service was awesome, especially making the kids feel special and welcome. Our toddler choked on a piece of chicken and ended up being sick on herself. The waitress was very helpful and understanding and helped clean up like it was no bother at all. �

After being let down by our local pub/eating establishment for a meal for 15 of us (half an hour before our booking i might add) we all went down to Berts and asked if they could fit us all in for a special lunch for our mother and fathers 35th wedding anniversary. They did and i have to say it was absolutly FANTASTIC! We were greeted by mark who looked after our group all the way through and was especially great with the three little girls we brought with us and the food was AMAZING. Most of our group had the roast lunch and i had the duck which was perfect! I even asked one of the girls to turn the heat off as we also had a new baby with us which they did no problem. Bravo to everyone working there today and to mark especially we all say a massive thank you. You made our meal that much more special so thank you again ��

After hearing mixed reviews, I have to say the food was gorgeous as is the setting. Good range of drinks (especially gin) and veggie options. Will defo go again.

Went for an evening meal but only table we could get was 5pm. I chose the belly pork but the amount of spinach and juice on top of the garlic mash made it all mush. Unedible. Lovely belly pork and jous but not worth £15.

We had food here on Friday night and ate breakfast here a couple of times and it was beautiful however staff weren’t very informative.. for example, didn’t tell us we had to book on the Saturday night and didn’t tell us the correct opening times etc... other than that, was ok

However, I have visited Berts in Hull twice and both time I have been left disappointed.

First time was with friends (although the service from our waiter was lovely) the pizzas came at different times and 3 our party did not get theirs until we had all eaten ( the food, when received was good). A member of staff came over apologised and dealt with our concerns so far- Fair enough, things happen all new places have teething problems!



So I decided to take the kids and give it another go when it wasn’t so busy.

Although, there is a small kids menu, our order was wrong and the pizza was not the same standard as the larger ones and the children’s starter and main came out at the same time.

I also have a baby and there is no baby change! We were told to change him on the seat in the shower in the disabled toilet, not ideal with the size and a wriggly 10 month old so I had to change him on the toilet floor which was far from ideal.

It's ok. Service has always been bad. Had a terrible Sunday lunch. But pizza and pastas are a safe bet.

Really excited to try the Hull branch following several lovely comments from friends about the Brandesburton restaurant however extremely disappointed at the level of service.

We were ignored on arrival, having to prompt and ask if we could be seated for lunch. The restaurant was busy but not full and the waitresses where rushing around but not looking overly productive.

Having finally be seated one waitress rushed past us several times over a ten minute period and kept saying “won’t be a minute”

Several minutes later...having even cleaned the table next to us which had been vacated before we arrived, we still hadn’t been approached; even for a drinks order.

We decided to get up and leave at which point the same waitress then approached us with her tablet saying she was just about to take our order! Sadly the time had passed and we decided to celebrate my husbands birthday with lunch elsewhere. If the service is that poor I dread to think what the food and service would have been like should we have got round to ordering.

For such a busy part of town you would expect a better level of organisation, it’s a big restaurant and I seriously think the team in there are well out of their depth.

Such a shame!

Berts Hull. Went today to the new one near the Deep in Hull. It was ok with definite room for improvement. One thing that I can’t get my head around is they don’t give you wine glasses when you order a bottle of wine!! When we asked for wine glasses they said authentic Italian restaurants don’t give you wine glasses! I can honestly say I have never not been given a wine glass in an Italian restaurant!! Eventually they brought some, but they did want us to use the beakers on the table! The food itself is nice when it eventually comes but we did wait a while. My son ordered from the kids menu but they never brought his starter with the adults starters instead saying they bring his with the main course! He was starving and when we asked, we was told we should of mentioned it when ordering!! As if we knew that his starter was never actually a starter! Not sure it is being managed properly if I’m honest. It needs experienced people at the helm and it will be much better.

Really slow service. Will never come here again. 15 minutes for someone to take order, starters cane fairly quickly but over half an hour wait for mains. Plus people who sat down after us were served their mains before us! Restaurant was not particularly busy either so not sure why so slow, but would not recommend going here. We went to the Hull restaurant

Awful service, was seated to our seat, I ordered wine and it came in a cup. I asked why It wasn’t served in a wine glass to be told that it was for the Italian touch! The waiter simply did not return to our table after that we waiting half a hour and our food order still had not been take therefore walked out! They only have pizzas on the menu and nothing else really disappointed as I love the berts in brandsburton! Won’t be coming back!

They did and i have to say it was absolutly FANTASTIC! We were greeted by mark who looked after our group all the way through and was especially great with the three little girls we brought with us and the food was AMAZING. Most of our group had the roast lunch and i had the duck which was perfect! I even asked one of the girls to turn the heat off as we also had a new baby with us which they did no problem. Bravo to everyone working there today and to mark especially we all say a massive thank you. You made our meal that much more special so thank you again ��

A fab night, the staff they were sooo nice and polite and the food 5 star plus, maybe I should not say all this, as everyone will want to go and eat here, so I might not get a table next time, as you need to book in advance!!

This was my first time eating here my friends have been before saying how Beautiful the food was well I must agree ! Excellent service excellent food left very happy & very full we will be visiting again ...

After hearing mixed reviews, I have to say the food was gorgeous as is the setting. Good range of drinks (especially gin) and veggie options. Will defo go again.

Went for an evening meal but only table we could get was 5pm. I chose the belly pork but the amount of spinach and juice on top of the garlic mash made it all mush. Unedible. Lovely belly pork and jous but not worth £15.

We had food here on Friday night and ate breakfast here a couple of times and it was beautiful however staff weren’t very informative.. for example, didn’t tell us we had to book on the Saturday night and didn’t tell us the correct opening times etc... other than that, was ok

The setting and decor is amazing and as I love Berts In Brandesburton I was looking forward to this opening.



However, I have visited Berts in Hull twice and both time I have been left disappointed.

First time was with friends (although the service from our waiter was lovely) the pizzas came at different times and 3 our party did not get theirs until we had all eaten ( the food, when received was good). A member of staff came over apologised and dealt with our concerns so far- Fair enough, things happen all new places have teething problems!



So I decided to take the kids and give it another go when it wasn’t so busy.

Although, there is a small kids menu, our order was wrong and the pizza was not the same standard as the larger ones and the children’s starter and main came out at the same time.

I also have a baby and there is no baby change! We were told to change him on the seat in the shower in the disabled toilet, not ideal with the size and a wriggly 10 month old so I had to change him on the toilet floor which was far from ideal.

It's ok. Service has always been bad. Had a terrible Sunday lunch. But pizza and pastas are a safe bet.

Really excited to try the Hull branch following several lovely comments from friends about the Brandesburton restaurant however extremely disappointed at the level of service.

We were ignored on arrival, having to prompt and ask if we could be seated for lunch. The restaurant was busy but not full and the waitresses where rushing around but not looking overly productive.

Having finally be seated one waitress rushed past us several times over a ten minute period and kept saying “won’t be a minute”

Several minutes later...having even cleaned the table next to us which had been vacated before we arrived, we still hadn’t been approached; even for a drinks order.

We decided to get up and leave at which point the same waitress then approached us with her tablet saying she was just about to take our order! Sadly the time had passed and we decided to celebrate my husbands birthday with lunch elsewhere. If the service is that poor I dread to think what the food and service would have been like should we have got round to ordering.

For such a busy part of town you would expect a better level of organisation, it’s a big restaurant and I seriously think the team in there are well out of their depth.

Such a shame!

Berts Hull. Went today to the new one near the Deep in Hull. It was ok with definite room for improvement. One thing that I can’t get my head around is they don’t give you wine glasses when you order a bottle of wine!! When we asked for wine glasses they said authentic Italian restaurants don’t give you wine glasses! I can honestly say I have never not been given a wine glass in an Italian restaurant!! Eventually they brought some, but they did want us to use the beakers on the table! The food itself is nice when it eventually comes but we did wait a while. My son ordered from the kids menu but they never brought his starter with the adults starters instead saying they bring his with the main course! He was starving and when we asked, we was told we should of mentioned it when ordering!! As if we knew that his starter was never actually a starter! Not sure it is being managed properly if I’m honest. It needs experienced people at the helm and it will be much better.

Really slow service. Will never come here again. 15 minutes for someone to take order, starters cane fairly quickly but over half an hour wait for mains. Plus people who sat down after us were served their mains before us! Restaurant was not particularly busy either so not sure why so slow, but would not recommend going here. We went to the Hull restaurant

Awful service, was seated to our seat, I ordered wine and it came in a cup. I asked why It wasn’t served in a wine glass to be told that it was for the Italian touch! The waiter simply did not return to our table after that we waiting half a hour and our food order still had not been take therefore walked out! They only have pizzas on the menu and nothing else really disappointed as I love the berts in brandsburton! Won’t be coming back!
