Berwick is a place which is always nice to pop back to

Went after 10 a.m. to buy tickets for journey in a few weeks, ticket office closed... on a MONDAY !! Asked at adjoining cafe and cafe worker was so undecipherable with her heavy foreign accent, I couldn't understand a word. Now they expect you to go on line to book. I'm an OAP, not that up on computers. But no, life is now taken over by technology, no people to talk to. Really disgusted. Oh, and looked to park, only two meters to buy tickets from , a long distance apart . Happened that one wasn't working. Meant long trek to other meter. Not good for OAP , especially if disabled. Very poorly run. Well, not run at all. A disgrace. The Council moved down South so us here in the north of the county are just abandoned.

Berwick used to be one of my favourite towns in the UK. But while half the local council seem intent on attracting visitors, the other half seem intent on ensuring we leave quickly and never return.
Still one of the very nicest towns to walk around, but disabled unfriendly​, despite all the claims.
Good shopping on the outskirts, but avoid the centre if shopping is all you need.
