Besprak : Architects + Interiors Description

BESPRAK Architects + Interior Designers was formed by Andrew Guy in January 2010 and we specialise mainly in the residential sector.

We undertake extensions, one-off houses, interior re-modelling, interior design, conversion works and change-of-uses. We have extensive experience with Grade II Listed Buildings, works in Conservation Areas, National Parks and obtaining planning permission on difficult or restrained sites.

Andrew is a member of both professional bodies that governs the protected title of the use ‘Architect’; being Architect’s Registration Board (A. R. B. ) and The Royal Institute of British Architects (R. I. B. A. ) and we carry full public indemnity insurance that complies with both A. R. B. and R. I. B. A. professional Code-of-Conducts to ensure a professional service is delivered at all times.

Andrew’s career spans in excess of 16 years acquiring valuable experience in previous practices both within the UK and overseas. The creation of BESPRAK Architects + Interior Designer enables us to transfer our depth of knowledge and experience to both private and developer clients.

The practice uses computer-aided design and traditional hand-drawn media to help promote your ideas and projects into real life.

We can offer clients a full Architect’s service from inception to completion, or a partial service to obtain planning and building regulations approval. The decision which route to follow is often determined by your confidence in the building process, scale of the project and of course your budget.

Over the years we have built up a very good reputation with clients and builders with the professional and dedicated service that we provide. We aim to create high-quality, innovative architecture that is delivered on time, to budget and most importantly that your project journey is as stress-free as possible!

NEW LANE : HAVANT : STEELS GO IN
When undertaking extension works to properties there is always an element of breaking through in to the space to make the existing work with the new. This normally involves a new beam being inserted in to the old external wall. The contractor on our New Lane project made this critical opening work last week and it has all gone very well.... Photos below!

Liphook, Hampshire : Works Progress to Tender Stage
BESPRAK is delighted to have been instructed to continue with works to our 6 bedroom detached project in Liphook, Hampshire. After obtaining planning and building regulations on this project in the South Downs National Park we have now been formally appointed to continue to tender stage and 'take off' of the construction works.
This is a very large, complex and time-consuming project and this will take a few months to get all documentation together! We are very much looking forward to pushing this project to the next level and here is a reminder of the project, below:-

New Appointment : Croydon, Surrey
BESPRAK is delighted to have been appointed to extend a large semi-detached 1930's house in Croydon, Surrey to provide accommodation for our client's mother. This is our second annex extension in less than 12 months! This site is far more restrained than our previous project in Hampshire.... but we'll make this one work just as well! :)

Fareham, Hampshire : Proposals put forward
BESPRAK has put together a couple of schemes for a single-storey extension to a detached house in Fareham, Hampshire. Both schemes are based upon a similar layout internally but one being traditional to fit in with the style of the host dwelling and one a bit more contemporary and modern! Our client likes the modern one, so watch this space! Both design schemes below:-

SITE VISIT - HAVANT
BESPRAK has made a recent site visit to our project in New Lane, Havant and works are coming along very well. The external drainage has been laid, rear steps have been constructed at 13 degrees angle which frames the width of the extension perfectly. The block walls are also slowly being raised to plate level which starts to mark out the rooms internally. Next week sees the all-important break through in to the existing space.

Shirrell Heath : Building Regulations Approval.
BESPRAK is delighted to have secured full plans building control approval for our project in Shirrell Heath. This project was quite a complex one in that both the annex and double-garage were not permitted to be dug in to the soil due to the proximity of tree roots. The Structural Engineer designed a system to ensure that the structures were 'floating' above ground on a ring beam with hand-dug piles. This form of construction worked well on the isolated garage but the levels posed a problem with the new extensions, but we managed to work a sensible solution of only 300mm difference between the additions and the host dwelling. The cross sections below show the level of complexity involved.

New Appointment : Hamble-le-rice, Southampton
BESPRAK is delighted to have been appointed to carry out works to a large, detached property in Hamble-Le-Rice, Southampton. Our client is looking to make extensions and alterations to a large, modern, detached house. The existing footprint is already impressive but it's a tad dated against modern standards. Being located in a private cul-de-sac there is huge potential to have some fun with a few proposals and with that something modern and a bit contemporary too!
A great project to have secured !

New Lane : Havant : Smart Model
Our client at New Lane, Havant has put together a handy balsa model to see how the extensions and alterations will look once finished! To think us architects used to have to do these types of models before the invention of 3D CAD walkthroughs takes me back....
As I understand our client is happy to take on further commissions!
