Best Western Glenridding Hotel

Great new bar, café/coffee bar and restaurant. All ran by very friendly and accommodating staff. Good local ales in the bar. Tasty food. Great coffee.

A beautiful hotel set in a fabulous location. The hotel is situated in the village of Glenridding at the southern end of Ullswater. The Hotel was closed for a long time after suffering damage during storm Desmond and this is the first visit since it has reopened. The new Beckside bar and restaurant are great with great food and they do very nice pizza which is also available to take away. The hotel also has a leisure centre with a swimming pool.

Nice place for a drink with great views from the beer garden but since its opened back up after the floods the food portions have gone right down, they should rename scampi with a plate full of salad with a bit of scampi and chips on the side, they trying to pull the wool over people's eyes

Very quick service, good food and good value

We had a comfortable room. Breakfasts inconsistent quality. Excellent first day then downhill after that. Day 2 continental ham and cheese came without crispy bread! Even though it was on menu. The cheese was so strong it wasn't eatable (this was BREAKFAST). Had to chase scrambled eggs round plate on day 3 with no seasoning! Only given 1 slice of kept-warm bacon. Still noisy with heavy plant machinery due to restructuring works outside. 3 DIGGERS start very early so couldn't lie-in!

Room servicing was poor. Had to ask for bed to be made PROPERLY and have the bases put back in line. There were no de-caffeinated teabags but had decaffeinated coffee. Why? Bathroom door didn't shut and there was no lock on the door. After a shower the floor was flooded and only 1 floor mat was provided which was then floating in water!

WiFi only worked occasionally and phone service only works if you are with Vodafone. Best service was in reception but still not great.

Refurbished and reopened after the devastating floods of 2015. The bar has been tastefully brought back and the welcome was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.
