Friendly and helpful staff in a lovely location. Surrounded by Epping forest but with easy access to London.
Rooms are unspectacular but clean and well cared for.
The standard double bedroom is sufficiently spacious. Sound proofing is bad as we could not only hear our neighbors entering and exiting the room, we could hear clearly ppl outside of the hotel (our room was facing the car park). Usual English bfast. It's not convenient to other places, min walk of 15-20min to nearest train station.
Stayed here a couple of times now. It wasn't a great hotel last time I stayed and since then the franchise has been take over by a new owner who has put the prices of the food and drink up a lot and kept the offering the same and it's just not good value. The rooms are small and because they have these useless mobile phones in the rooms there are no free plug sockets. No help with bags, an area that is synonymous with car crime (many workers have tools stolen from their vans in the hotel car park). Check in and check out is easy and the lady in the bar/restaurant was very good. For a budget hotel it should be better value
Decent location and fairly big car park made a fairly good first impression. I had to wait almost ten minutes at the reception to get my room key. And they didn't have any toothpaste for customers (I keep forgetting it every time). Average overall impression. Good enough for a short stay if you get a good deal on a price.
Nice little hotel, exactly that I would expect from a 3-star accomodation. The room was very basic but clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. The bathroom was clean too, which is important for me. The staff is super friendly and very helpful, i really appreciate that. The only thing is that the bed in a double room was too small and soft and I kept rolling off it, that's probably the least comfortable hotel bed I've ever dealt with.
Service was great. The room was in decent condition but needed painting. The corridors smelled musty.
Got the room for a good price. It has obviously seen better days but everything worked and the bed was comfy. Occasional noise at night from the pipes I think, but didn't disturb me a great deal.
A well presented hotel on arrival, very professional, friendly staff. Nicely decorated room however the central heating system was very noisy all night accompanied by a constant ticking from the pipes. Our children found it hard to get to sleep. Sadly, we also had a faulty shower which was not up to an expected hotel standard.
Breakfast was nice.
No afternoon tea, even though it says it's available online and in the guide in the room. A dirty plate was in the corridor for hours. Other than that all was good and breakfast was lovely.
