This little place is great for a get away, handy location and friendly service. Would recommend!
Me and my new wife had our wedding and reception here and, oh my god it was everything we wanted and so much more. The staff are so friendly and do anything for you and the room we had was clean and perfect. We are going back for our anniversary next year.
Me and my new husband had our wedding ceremony and reception here, and it was AMAZING!! The staff are great, really friendly and polite. Christine, who organised the wedding with us, was phenomenal. Nothing was too much trouble, and made us feel like royalty from the moment we arrived. Would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much guys for everything that you did. It truly made our day so special.
Looking forward to watching my horses come in on the new screens. Guinness in nay bad either!
Have been staying once / twice a month for the last 10 years... So it's home from home while working in the area... rooms are ok.. always very clean... the bar is a good local with good staff .. food can be a little up and down...but breakfast is always very good esp. If Cathy is working...she is a little gem..
Great stay and excellent service in this hidden hotel gem!
Fantastic service from every member of staff we came across.
The family room we stayed in was massive.
The meals in the restaurant were slightly over priced, but my children were allowed to order off the kids menu from the bar but eat their meals in the restaurant due to karaoke kicking off in the bar.
We were well looked after in the restaurant, our servers were fab and made us feel at ease with the children.
Will look at staying here again next time we venture to Birmingham
Fantastic Hotel and staff! Thank you to everyone for making my mum and her friend welcome, they thoroughly enjoyed the Motown night and said the carvery and breakfast was delicious and plenty to choose from.
They were made up that you upgraded them to the executive suite, they loved the spacious room. Thanks again Vanessa
Another review described this hotel as a hidden gem. 100% agree. Wonderful hotel, good food and amazing staff. Our wedding went so smoothly mostly thanks to the detailed help of the staff. From the decorations to flowers to the menu to the sound system (music and food make or break a wedding!) it was flawless. Thank you for guiding us and taking the stress out of wedding planning
Always been fond of this place. Secret birthday party for my 50th yesterday. Nice staff and great place aà
After winning a night stay Dinner Breakfast and tickets to see the band Rats in the Kitchen (who were amazing), Reception even arranged a taxi to pick me up from the station. The staff were all very friendly I felt very spoilt, nothing was too much. Dinner and breakfast couldn't have been any better. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel for your trip to Birmingham

Very good bar service and very good atmosphere for world cup football
Nancy rocks ! She was on reception during my last stay and was so helpful and friendly, I felt very 'looked after'. I've stayed here several times and will again. The rooms are big with high ceilings, airy and light. Retro quaint ! The meals in the restaurant were big too ! All staff were just super. Small hiccup with being charged for food we didn't have and I would have hoped the management would have contacted me by now with a resolve, as promised. Apart from that I can highly recommend this hotel (especially if Nancy's on duty !)
Fab night here last night for the ub40 tribute rats in the kitchen was great defo wanna see them again
Stayed here on Friday and there was a wedding on so the staff put me in a room at the front. Over the bar! There were guests talking at the top of their voices until gone 2:30. So that wad £99 for six hours sleep. Not the reason I book to stay in a hotel. I would have done better by parking up and kipping in the back seat. The staff may be friendly but that's no good to me walking around Saturday like a zombie.
The bar is a dive too.
Came here for a training course.
We were asked to pre order sandwiches, but then had to queue during our precious 30 minute break to pay for them. They had obviously been made and left out uncovered because the bread was dry & curling. The filling wasn't much better - very little butter and just the dry meat. There was a couple of small wilted salad leaves on the side & a bowl of about 10 chips. £4!!!!
Attended a wedding. The function room was dressed beautifully. What really let it down was the food I'm afraid.
Starter Grilled Goats cheese - most was wasted. It was served cold. It should of been warm. It's an acquired taste. Hence so many plates went back
Main: Roast chicken dinner. Chicken luke warm with little gravy which was very watery. Vegetables were definitely undercooked. Veg delivered to table in one large bowl and left on the table. Ended up having to serve my table of guests (as a guest myself).
Sweet: cheesecake with white chocolate sauce. Strawberries had been placed on the plate too soon and the pudding left in the warm as the strawberries had deteriorated and shown they had been there most of the day on the plate before service.
Staff, however, were very friendly
Very disappointing came on a car spares Xmas work night out .starters came out cold had another not much better.carvery was small qty wise .carrots hard. roasts not cooked properly parsnips over done very disappointed at the price we all had to pay we did get a round of drinks because starter was cold .didn’t complain about mains but I believe a few on the night on other tables did. Don’t think I would return back again spoilt the night after we looked forward to it for a long time out with work colleagues.
Just returned from a very disappointing Christmas lunch. It was advertised as being served in the restaurant but we ended up in the bar. The main course was poor- cold fish, gammon that looked and tasted as if it was leftovers from the previous day's carvery, potatoes were the ' frozen bag ' variety . One of the party is allergic to potatoes so made a point to request no potatoes on her plate. When dish arrived potatoes were on the plate . One of the party asked for a very weak coffee but when they arrived the waitress said all coffee s were the same as she was not told about the request. We were told we had to pay £10 deposit up front , this had not been deducted from the final bill when it arrived. We did complain , saying in previous years we highly rated the food . We received an apology and complimentary drinks but would have preferred the food and service to be up to scratch. We were the only party having the Christmas lunch , wonder why?
