What a lovely surprise we came home to yesterday. The human grandad of one of our long term fosters sent us 2 sacks of Pro-Plan. How lovely and very much appreciated. Thank you Grandad Jordan. xx

**** ANYONE FOR THREE? **** Lucky (Day), Dusty (Bottom) & Ned (Nederlander) are our 3 handsome 3 amigos looking for a really special person or family to adopt them all together in/around the Ipswich area.
They started life as little wildies, being born under a hedge, but they are now used to all their home comforts. Dusty is the more confident of the 3, enjoying fusses & snuggles. Ned is a little more reserved, & Lucky is the shyest (& the biggest), sitting quietly watching... us while we potter about, coming for occasional fusses.
Our 3 gorgeous 3 brothers are approx. 18 months old now. Neutered, chipped, flea/worm treated, they are typical teenage boys, spending most of their time asleep, eating whatever they can, & getting up to all sorts of mischief.
They really do deserve a loving home where they will be given time to settle in slowly at their own pace. They could live with other laid back cats if introduced slowly & with well mannered older children (over 12) who would understand they would need a bit of time & space. They are not dog tested, so we would not home with dogs.
We would expect the boys to have access to a safe outside space, away from busy roads, train lines, etc when they are fully settled. If you have any questions about this scrummy little trio, please send us a message. Home check & adoption donation apply.

*** TOM & JERRY - SPECIAL HOME NEEDED *** Our gorgeous boys Tom & Jerry are still with us, still waiting for some lovely person/people to offer them the forever home they deserve. They are a pair of typical teenage tearaway boys, always looking for mischief & adventures. They need a semi-rural home, or where there are no other local cats as Jerry is very territorial, & does not tolerate other cats on his patch! They are not cuddly boys, but are very funny, chatty boys, who... are very affectionate when they know/trust you. They both love having their bottoms scratched & necks rubbed. Please have a look at the link for full details on the boys, or message us if you have any questions. They really do deserve the chance to live their best lives.

*** MEET DAISY - FOR ADOPTION *** We are looking for a very special home for our dear girl Daisy who we are fostering for Suffolk Animal Rescue.
Daisy is a timid little girl who needs someone who will understand & accept her little foibles & love her all the same. She hasn't had the best life, at some point being relegated to living in the outhouse.
... At nearly 12 years old, it is about time Daisy was allowed to enjoy some of the creature comforts she deserves. Daisy is a little shy, but does enjoy a fuss once when knows you. She has been to the vet & had a dental, (she had a broken tooth that needed to be removed), & seems in good health. She loves her wet food & is a bit of a dumpling, but we cant help but spoil her.
There is a minor issue that any adopter will need to be prepared for, unfortunately, Daisy is not litter trained. So, any adopter will need to have a introduction room with a tiled or vinyl floor (kitchen, conservatory, etc..) for the settling in period. Daisy will toilet outside as soon as she is able, but of course, she will need to be kept in for a month or so while she settles. She is currently in a run where she has access to an outside space & she will always go outside. (we are currently trying to train her to toilet on newspaper).
Daisy will have to have a cat flap & have access to a safe outside space away from busy roads & other possible dangers. She needs a relatively quiet home due to her being timid, so no young children or dogs. She could live with another laid back cat, if introduced carefully, but would be perfectly happy as an only cat. Daisy would make an ideal companion for someone older who is happy just to let her be.
If you have any questions, or think that you could offer Daisy the very special forever home she deserves, please get in touch.

*** ANTI FREEZE IS TOXIC TO CATS & DOGS ***
With winter seemingly well & truly upon us now, please make sure you keep an eye on your pets & take care when using any anti-freeze products.
Even the smallest amount of antifreeze can cause kidney failure and death when ingested by cats & dogs too.
... The toxic agent in antifreeze is ethylene glycol, and it takes as little as 1 tablespoon to cause acute kidney failure in dogs, and just 1 teaspoon can be fatal to a cat.
Accidents from accidental spillages can be avoided by storing bottles safely, cleaning up spillages instantly and disposing of antifreeze products responsibly.
Signs of antifreeze poisoning in cats include vomiting, a sleepy or depressed demeanour, a drunk-like and uncoordinated state, as well as seizures and difficulty breathing.
Signs can begin to show after 30 minutes post-ingestion, with kidney failure indicators showing after two or three days. We advise that you contact your vet immediately if you suspect poisoning.

*** HELP NEEDED AT BETTY's *** Betty's needs someone confident, reliable & flexible (lots of bending & twisting to get into the nooks & crannies!), to help out a few hours a week on a Wednesday or Thursday with the weekly clean, starting asap.
Must love cats 😻 & like cleaning 😾 , as we are looking for someone who can come & help with the weekly top to bottom clean out in the runs & maybe spend a it of time giving the kitties a little fuss too 😸
... This is not paid (apart from tea & biscuits), & is not for the feint hearted, it really is a bit of a slog (if we get our heads down it takes about 2 hours to do the clean), but really is a much needed role within our little rescue in Ipswich. If you are interested in joining our little family, then please message us asap. Thanks

*** CHESTER UPDATE *** We received some lovely pics today, of our gorgeous old boy Chester, who went off to his new home a few weeks ago, out exploring his new garden for the first time. Such a big, brave boy. We went up to see him in his new home on Christmas Eve & he had settled in beautifully, making himself at home, claiming his new Mum's chair as his own already! And, we came home with a bag full of goodies for the kits too, which was a lovely surprise. Such a lucky boy, he is totally adored, and just know that he & his lovely new Mum are just a perfect match for each other <3

These gorgeous little kits are still with us, waiting for someone to fall in love with them & offer them their forever home <3

These gorgeous siblings are George & Jessie, they are looking for a home together.
They arrived with us a few days ago & are doing really well. George is super confident & into everything (hence his name!). Jessie is a little shyer to start, but soon forgets & is as keen as her brother to explore & get into mischief.
They are both little snugglers, both climbed onto our lap last night for some fusses & a snooze. a very gentle little pair, who are happy to be picked up & cu...ddled.
4 months old (born July 29th) they are now netutered, chipped, flea/worm treated & ready to find their forever home in/around Ipswich area. They could live with other laid back cats with slow introductions, they are not dog tested. They could live with well mannered children. Once fully settled, they would need access to a safe outside space to play/explore away from main roads & other dangers.
If you think you could offer this sweet little duo the forever home they deserve, please pm us. Home check & adoption donation apply.

Meet Chester, our gorgeous senior boy.
After living as a stray for at least several months, possibly longer we were contacted by a concerned lady who saw that he was losing weight & condition, & asked if we could help. All his chip info was out of date, so we do not know if he was abandoned, strayed, or sadly as the neighbours think, his elderly owner died. But we do know from the chip that he is 14 years old called Chester.
He has been with us a few weeks now. He has be...en to the vets & had a dental, his bloods show that he is does not have FIV or FeLV & is in good health for a cat of his age. (Please note, we always suggest an adopter take out insurance for any cat they take on, or be prepared to cover any costs for conditions they may have in the future)
This gorgeous man needs a place to call home in/around the Ipswich area. He loves his attention & fusses and as you might expect food & snoozing too! A gentle boy, we have not tested him with other cats or dogs so ideally will home him as an only pet. He would make an ideal companion cat or could live with well mannered children, but given his age & temperament, we think he would enjoy a relatively quite home, or a home where he could have quiet places to curl up & nap.
If you are interested in offering Chester the forever home he deserves, or have any questions, please send us a message. Home check & adoption donation apply.

TALIA - ADOPTED We took our gorgeous girlie to her forever home yesterday. She did really well, but was a little overwhelmed by the move. However, after hiding behind the washing machine, behind the sofa & under the bed, we have had a report back from her lovely new Mumma that she was curled up asleep on her bed by 10:30pm Such a sweet little girlie, that somehow managed to find herself lost & alone, so happy to be come to us where she had a warm bed, a full tummy & lots of cuddles, and now, to have a Mumma of her own where she can give all her loves to her special person & get all the loves she wants back, she really is one lucky little girl. Be happy together Talia & Mumma Elma. <3 <3

2 BLACK KITTENS - FOREVER HOME NEEDED We have been contacted today about 2x 15 week old black kittens that need a forever home urgently. (NOT kittens in picture 😸 ) We have been told they are friendly, confident little things. We would want them to be homed together as they are very close). They are used to well mannered children.
We do not have the space to take them in at the moment so can not offer foster, but have said we will see if we can help find them the home they... deserve. They have been vet checked & flea/worm treated. We would get them chipped & re-vet checked before adoption.
If you think you could offer a loving, safe home to 2 gorgeous little panther kittens, then please get in touch soonest.
As always, home check & adoption donation apply.

Melvin is 14, and does suffer from diabetes, but this is being managed (see link for full details). ... He really needs a relatively quiet home as an only cat, with some access to a nice safe garden/outside space. If you think you could open your home & your heart to this most gorgeous of boys, please message Paws & Mittens directly. Home check & adoption donation apply.

*** CATS FOR ADOPTION ***
All these gorgeous kits are with us at Bettys while waiting for someone to fall in love with them & offer them the forever home they deserve. Click on photo for information on each of the kits/pairs.
... PLEASE NOTE: Before we pursue any possible adoption enquiry we ask you to let us know your address. This is so that we can check outside access is safe, not near any busy roads, rivers, train lines, etc. And, before we arrange a meeting with any of the cats, we also like to have a chat so we can ask some set questions to assess your suitability to adopt the particular cat/s you are asking about. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have too.
As well as looking after all the cats, Betty also works full time, including weekends, so any meetings need to be arranged at a mutually convenient time for everyone.
If you have any questions, please send us a message. Thanks Home check & adoption donation apply.

Wonderful to see so many Cats being Adopted into loving homes <3 Kepp up the amazing work!

User

We are currently looking into the possibility of rehoming one of the beautiful cats currently residing at Betty's, a meet has been scheduled for tomorrow and so far all communication has been friendly and totally focussed on the needs of the lovely little lady we are hoping to adopt. This is exactly the type of attitude that pleases me when dealing with rehoming/adoption of precious fur babies. I am hopeful we are able to offer a suitable home.

User

We adopted a cat in June and were extremely impressed by Andrea's care, knowledge and kindness. Kitties land on their paws when they are taken on by her!
