Beyond Bea Charity

About Beyond Bea Charity

Beyond Bea Charity was established in January 2018 by Registered Midwife Steph Wild following the death of her daughter Bea at 23 + 4 weeks gestation. Steph recognised that bereavement care training for maternity professionals and other health professionals coming into contact with bereaved families was insufficient - often too expensive, not easily accessible, or lacking the right content. Beyond Bea Charity was established to fill this void. Delivering accessible, RCM-accredited study days in any trust, university, hospice, or other environment where professionals or students involved in delivering bereavement care work. Beyond Bea Charity study days comprise a combination of clinical training from a Registered Midwife, human elements from bereaved parents, and interactive hands-on memory-making workshops on inkless prints, clay imprints, photography and 3D castings. Beyond Bea Charity's ethos is that high-quality bereavement care training should be available to any professional who may support bereaved families - the absence of it has a hugely negative impact on the care experience for bereaved families and for the health professionals providing this care to them. Cost and accessibility should NEVER be barriers to this. In addition to our study days and annual conference, the Beyond Bea Charity team - made up of a combination of health professionals and bereaved mums and dads - is available to support or advise on improvements to your own internal training programmes and to speak at external events. High-quality bereavement care is not a nicety, it's an absolute essential. Beyond Bea Charity exists to help you find the best possible ways to help for bereaved families in your care.
