Hi everyone BM's annual general meeting will be at the Bar Convent this Thursday 25th April starting at 7PM. It's your chance to get involved in how the club is run. We're looking for a couple of people to pick up two of the organiser / committee roles that need to be filled. BM at Trafalgar Bay on Saturday! This is instead of the usual Bar Convent venue due to holiday bookings, we will be back there soon! BM will be meeting at the Trafalgar Bay pub, 7 Nunnery Lane on Saturday (27 April) from 1100-2200. We have reserved the biggest of their free-to-hire function rooms. After our official meet on Friday we have an unofficial meet on Saturday in the Trafalgar Bay pub (next door to Bar Convent) from 11am on Saturday. Everyone welcome, not sure when it'll end.

A quick thank you to everyone involved in last week's 7 Wonders tournament, it was a fabulous success. We are now back to normal with our Friday meet at the Bar Convent tomorrow 5-9pm. As always friends new and old are always welcome. One last thing, a few people have asked about Airecon, Yorkshire's gaming convention. While we are not officially linked to the event, as always a fair number of BM regulars will be in attendance so fear not if you wish to go, there will be friendly faces about. It's finally time for our tournament, so this is the last time you have to read my salutations about it :-). The first Beyond Monopoly Thursday meeting at Travelling man on Goodramgate was a lot of fun. We started with a great game (Innovation) - unfortunately out of print - but I am going to try to find it on ebay.



A very friendly group of gamers - and there are lots of games provided by Travelling Man to play.

Nice venue, great people, excellent boardgame club !

Love it, love it and did I mention that I love it.

I visited on my own for the first time today and was made to feel very welcome. A huge selection of games and a very friendly group of people with which to play them. If you like board games (not the monopoly type), then I recommend that you give it a try.

I had a really lovely first-time visit today. Enjoyed the games I played with 8 round a table and the debating over who was the spy and so on. Thanks for a great time and a great club. The Bar Convent cafe is fantastic too. I did wish the organisers/committee/leaders or whatever were wearing badges or T-shirts though, because walking in as a newbie it was hard to know the etiquette and how to get started. Lovely place, lovely club!
