Beyond Steel focus on vehicle structures within the transportation sector with aims of - reducing mass - increasing stiffness - improving structural damping (improved NVH) - reducing intrusion & improving safetyWe have developed a novel composite technology that allows high-performance structures that can be manufactured in volumes expected by automotive OEMs & Tier 1s. The technology, now in the patent process, is being applied to vehicle structures in the wider automotive sector, including commercial vehicles. Beyond Steel is aware of the importance of cost to OEMs and Tier suppliers so focus heavily on maintaining cost parity with existing materials. This has been shown to be possible across the vehicle structure as a system. Life-cycle analysis and emissions studies show composites, including carbon fibre have improved energy savings over metallics throughout the production phases and are better over the lifespan of the vehicle. Available to customers is our Fulcrum vehicle platform - Battery electric platform with range-extender capability - high-performance composite body structureThis platform works across all car variants including SUVs. We are currently utilising our know-how of composite structures to develop the architecture for truck cabs with a heavy focus on improving NVH within the cabin.
