About Bickershaw Project

The Bickershaw Project is a Lancashire Wildlife Trust managed Country Park.
It has over 15km of surfaced pathways and many more trail routes which zig zag through hundreds of hectares of varied wildlife habitat.

Bickershaw Project Description

The Bickershaw Project aims to transform a former colliery site into a multi-functional country park accessible to all members of the community.

The project is funded by The Deal and managed by a partnership of Wigan Council, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, and Manchester City of Trees.

The site has many varied habitats including large flashes, woodland, reed beds, and grassland meadows which all provide homes for a wide range of wildlife.

The parks network of paths provide a great way to stay active whilst getting outdoors and taking in the natural environment.
