Bideford Coastguard Description
Our teams work closely together to assist anyone in distress along the coastal and estuary regions around Bideford in North Devon. We are highly trained in water, rope and mud rescue, searching for missing persons and firt aid.

Team called to reports of a person fallen from the cliff at Seafields, Westward Ho! On arrival the casualty was being assisted by 3 friends. The team set up for a full rope rescue with members of the Hartland Coastguard Rescue Team. Also on scene were Devon and Cornwall Police, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, South West Ambulance and HART teams. CG Rescue Helicopter 187 winched casualty for onward transport to hospital while the Appledore L...ifeboat crews recovered the 3 friend to the lifeboat station while the team provided safety cover.

Paged by UK Coastguard following a 999 call from a member of the public who had concerns about people in the water off of Westward Ho! Beach.
Upon arrival the team conducted a shoreline search working with Appledore ILB. Nothing found so team and ILB stood down.

Paged by UK Coastguard to reports of a person stuck in the mud near Fremington Quay.
Upon arrival the team located the casualty and set up for a full mud extraction. The casualty was soon extracted by our mud rescue technicians safe and well.

Following last night's mud callout a few of the team are back on station this afternoon checking kit and repacking the truck and trailer.
