For many years he also played with the infamous Mike Bowden (Dr Truth) in a previous line up of Blue Swamp. Expect blues and soul at its best from Johnnie and his band of high class musicians.

Wow! Called in for the first time on Friday and what a fantastic place, Darwens own Ronnie Scotts for Blues fans, A friendly atmosphere with like minded people, will definitely be going in more often �

What a great night out it is here. No scroats or idiots. Proper decent crowd.. and proper nice music. My first time ever to a Blues bar. Amazed!

What a fantastic venue. Awesome range of beers and the food is amazing. Atmosphere is great and of course, the music. These guys know how to run a venue, 10/10 :)

Quite possibly, the coolest Blues club I’ve ever played. This place looks stunning, the in-house gear is great and we were well looked after. Wish I’d had time to try a meal. Maybe next time. :)

Paid a visit here recently . Very tastefully decorated, and they have some very good musicians playing here . comfortable and relaxed atmosphere . the drinks are slightly more expensive than you would expect, but worth the extra for what you get from the place.

My first visit yesterday,I got a vibe for this place as soon as I entered, what a lovely venue this is, tastefully decorated with lots of blues/rock memorabilia without looking cluttered, great comfy seating, beautiful food, excellent beer, superb prices, welcomed with a smile ( A rarity these days ) lovely bar staff, fabulous gig with the great Victor Brox, the only downside for me was the amount of people chattering by the bar during the gig, thankfully that died down during the second session, but seriously folks, why attend and not listen ? Will definitely visit again in the near future !

If you haven't visited this blues bar it is a must.

The music is fantastic.

The staff are lovely.

And the beer and drinks couldn't be better.

We totally love this place.

Great new venue, looks like a lot of hard work has gone into creating what has to be the nicest bar in town. Well done! Im sure the hard work will pay off and be a massive success for you, just what the town needed, a bit of class!!

Fantastic Blues Bar! The decor is beautiful and the sound on stage is fantastic! The food was lovely too, I wish there were more places just like this one! Especially in Southampton! I’d never go anywhere else! Backwater Roll really enjoyed playing there, the crowd were great too! Really respectful, the staff were really lovely, go and check it out! You won’t regret it! See you next August guys!!!

Anyone wanting a good Sunday lunch in a chilled atmosphere you won't go wrong in here. When there's live music on it's even better

As a free house they serve a good range of beers and have a gin bar.

Good food at a good price. Very comfortably furnished with quieter areas to 'chill'.

Have and excellent stage with lighting, sound desk and in-house PA .

A superb venue 'Keeping Live Music Alive'

A couple of us wanted to go out for food but couldn't decide where. I had been in previously for drinks and noticed a menu. So looked online and saw the menu so decided to give it a try on a Sunday afternoon. The food has to be the best I've had in a long while. The food fell off the bone, the chips were amazing. The atmosphere and the music is really relaxing. Staff really friendly and chatty. This will be one of my regular places too go and recommend to others.

A Fantastic, no expense spared, well designed blues bar which puts Darwen on the map! Wonderful food, which has a southern American feel, delicious! 😋Plus the the menu is gluten free.

For a good night out in a relaxed setting, live bands and great food choose here, you will not be disappointed.

2 December 2017 called in with my son and two of his friends and I was like a kid in a candy store. fantastic decor good quality beer at a reasonable price, a relaxing ambiance, lady behind the bar was really pleasant with a welcoming manner. This is not just a Blues Bar, this is the Blues Bar I've had planned in my head for years. I'm sure whenever I visit my son I will be a frequent visitor here. Keep up the good work guys and keep the music real and live

Food is great, genuinely impressed! The place as a whole is very impressive but I begrudge paying £3 each entry when we only went to have a meal and a couple drinks and we didn't stop for the band anyway (arrived over an hour before they were scheduled to play)



Bar service very slow, evident it's a new venture so over time I'm sure that will improve itself.



Would go again, but I think the entry fee should be applicable after a certain time not all evening, or at least after the place has been open long enough that everyone knows what they're doing
