We’ve come home today and cannot recommend enough, very pleased with our weekend experience. We did camping and despite the weather, had a good trip. The site was spacious, toilets were clean, swimming was great, the main reception was good (the decking area is lovely) and finally the food was very nice too. I’d really like to say a HUGE thanks to the entertainment staff. They’ve made two boys very happy this weekend. The shows and activities were great but they were so lovely to my boys, it really made the weekend even better than I expected. Definitely will be back to visit soon!

User

Wasn't sure what to expect from our caravan as we were travelling with our dog but it was fantastic! Even had a welcome pack with tea and coffee and biscuits - caravan was extremely clean, couldn't have been happier.

We didn't realise when we booked that it was the weekend of the 'tribute festival' - what a bonus

A very enjoyable weekend, yes there were queues at the bar but hell does it really matter if u have to wait ten minutes for your drink!? It was a busy, fun weekend and all the staff worked very hard and very long hours - well done guys we really enjoyed ourselves.

User

Great place, just back from our first visit camping. Had most of the pitch to ourselves but then again it is April and not so busy. Ground was very muddy though and waterlogged in places. Lots of ducks, geese and swans wandering around which the kids loved and the Lake is gorgeous. Good, clean facilities, friendly staff and lots for kids of all ages to do onsite. Lovely food/entertainment in The Venue and a handy Nisa store for any food/drink supplies. 2 great pubs nearby and the Pool is fab and great for the kids, good value when you buy a Family Day Pass. Will definitely visit again in the summer when the weather is warmer hopefully and we can explore more of the site. 10/10 for Billing!

User

Two night stay for Carp in the Park to treat the fishermen in my party. It was fine for us but then the weather has been exceptional and we enjoyed our first visit. Had a 2 berth van which had all we needed. I can understand it would not be so good if wet and being there for the event was definitely a plus. You do need to be able to entertain yourself as not much happening on the entertainment front. We went off site to eat because we're more picky and noticed very long queues for food. Again it was very busy with campers this weekend.

User

Camping pods!! Stayed here a couple of weeks ago. I was lucky enough to get the camping pod with the newly installed fridge, small kettle and cups and I have to say it was the best decision you could make with those pods. Managed to keep our food fresh. Which was great especially with the hot weather! We had stayed in the pods last year and this was a big problem! The tea and coffee was a massive bonus... and was very grateful for the small bottle of washing up liquid as I had forgotten to pack it!

Went with my two friends and our kids, we had pods next to each other. My friend was not impressed at mine being lovely and clean with a fridge, where as hers looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly!

I do love the pods and will be returning... however just to make a note. Went to the venue a couple times. We ate in there on the Saturday night. The "Fast track" Food had been sitting there for over 3 hours not touched. It looked awful. Staff were put out when asked to make fresh food.. also bar staff were clueless about pouring basic drinks.. wasn't a good experience both Saturday night or Sunday morning having breakfast there.. would not want to eat in there again

User

We have just returned from our camping trip a 5 night stay in a tent. On arrival we were told the field we had booked was full so we're told to go on alternative one. That was fine it was a much quieter field next to a toilet block.

The entertainment team are very good our kids loved the entertainment. 9/10 for them they do an amazing job.

The campsite is very dated apart from the venue (bar, restaurant and swimming pool). The fun fair is very small and old fashioned and could definitely do with an update.

Toilet blocks need serious renovating and cleaning. Shower blocks not working.

The toilets are disgraceful and you are lucky if you can find a toilet with toilet roll! There is no way these are checked and cleaned regularly enough.

Other campers very noisy which is rather annoying when in a tent.

Many of the roads have pot holes and the gravel outside the fun fair could do with being tarmaced.

You need waterproofs to wash up, taps pressure way to fast resulting in getting drenched. No lights by washing up facilities either.

The venue has their own rules, signs everywhere food served until 9pm. Went to order food at 7.50pm a few days ago to be advised we have stopped serving food. They agreed in the end to make some!

You have to pay extra for the swimming pool fair enough but you should not lose your 50p in the swimming pool lockers. The chlorine is excessive and hurt our eyes. The slide is not managed properly as you are supposed to wait for green light but the child behind me didn't! There are no staff at the top to check.

Yesterday on arrival to the pool we were told as it isn't busy we aren't operating sessions today. Then we were later told to get out of the pool as the session is over.

If you want pepsi that isn't diet think again as the venue only serves diet versions.

Dizzy the duck is only available as a prize if your child wins a competition this is ridiculous. These teddies need to be on sale as if your child doesn't win you can't buy one resulting in an upset child. You are losing out on serious revenue here where is your sale of Dizzy merchandise?

The entertainment programme isn't explained enough there were changes because it's half term week we missed out on activities as we weren't aware they were on.

A few simple changes and it would be an amazing campsite. Even if you just sorted out the toilets and showers that would be a great start.

User

The weather can not be helped so I’m not going to complain about that. Potholes were terrible. We had to book an ‘hour’ slot for swimming, I understand you can only have a certain amount of people in the pool at one time but we should have been made aware. Showers on our camp weren’t working. Toilets were disgusting female and male. We showered after swimming as it seemed the best idea. I asked 2 members of staff in ‘The Venue’ what children’s entertainment was on that evening and neither had a clue, which isn’t good at all. I must say the children’s entertainment staff though were brilliant and my little girl loved it. The bar staff were lovely too, I had a brilliant evening. On the positives, the place is brilliant for children, fair rides were 50p a token and most were only 4 tokens. Swimming was great, my 5 year old daughter loved the slide. The views, lakes and camp sites were lovely. We never had any noise troubles or problems. We stayed for 2 nights in our tent and would defiantly go again. We paid £67. I wouldn’t say this is everybodies cup of tea but my family had a lovely bank holiday weekend

My Mum lives on the aquadrome in her own caravan & has asked that I leave the following message on her behalf as she doesn't have fb.

Why do residents have to pay the ground fees when it seems like hardly anything is being done around the park???

For example:

* The bins aren't adequately placed around the park to be easily accessible. Residents have to put their rubbish bags in their cars to drive to the nearest bin. The elderly residents obviously haven't been thought when park staff made this decision.

* There are still potholes around the park & it seems as though the roads have only been patched up near the entrance as a quick fix rather than a proper job being done.

* When my Mum went to order her gas bottle she was told that they only deliver so many a day so the person had to check to see if they could fit her in which is frankly ridiculous in this freezing weather as the central heating in the caravans in gas fuelled.

* No park staff attempted to clear any snow from the roads around the park on the main road parts.

* It takes forever and numerous reminders for any repairs/checks to be done in the residents caravans. My Mum is still waiting for something to be looked at that she reported way before Xmas. Also still waiting for the gas check that she paid for at the beginning of January 2018.

Monday to Friday break camping in our tent. Pitched at puddleduck.

Arrived at Aquadrome having had a text to say to have the confirmation ready. We arrived out of hours so showed email confirmation on phone to gate security. He said what’s that, I said confirmation, he said what’s ya name and proceeded to give a welcome pack. He then asked ‘do you know where your going?’ We said no he said down on left.

We finally found puddleduck which isn’t as I thought. I thought from map it was a small field but it actually large. On our welcome pack there was no pitch number so was confused where to pitch. The field had long grass and many pot holes. One camper landed up in hospital having fallen down a pothole.

The ‘gingers’ shower block and toilet block are disgusting. Wet floors from leaks, very cheap shower curtains, one hook, no benches, no shelves. The shower timers are set so by time you got your shower gel open your pressing the button again. Infact had to press the button about 14 times to have a decent shower. Cleaning of the facility appeared to be a quick mop. Showered in flip flops due to the low standard of cleanliness.

The site is lovely, many lakeside and river walks. Relaxing and dog friendly. The Venue clubhouse staff and entertainment staff were great, special thanks to Heather, Buddy, Cara, James and Dean. Beautiful verandah seating.

Someone came round two days into our stay to put tags on our tents and vans. Why they don’t put these in the welcome packs and make you check out I will never know.

Otherwise a lovely stay. Not sure we would visit again though.

User

Just back from a weekend camping at Billing. Have mixed feelings about the place to be honest. I will start with the positives.

Firstly my children had a brilliant time - which to us is the most important thing - and they were really sad to leave. The club house, fun fair and swimming pool were brilliant and kept us all entertained during the BH weekend. The setting around these areas was great too.

On to the negatives.

On arrival - which was our first visit - we picked up our pass at the gate and were instructed to follow the road round to the campsite and speak to the warden. When we got there we were told that we couldnt pitch where we were we had booked and were allocated - puddleduck - as we had an electric booking but people had pitched incorrectly meaning no more electric spots were available. I told the warden we had paid for an electric and needed one. So we were directed to another pitch which was deemed "just as nice" and were the only remaining electric pitches available - Heron way. We found our way there and on first impressions it looked pretty terrible. The grass was overgrown, potholes in the road, no obvious places guidelines as where we should be pitching, a large part of the area was also waterlogged. But we found somewhere and set up and got on with it as we had two very excited children looking forward to starting their break. After a while we paid our first visit to the toilets which during the whole course of the weekend were pretty terrible. They smelled bad, were dirty, blocked and no hot water. The washing up area wasnt great either.

I guess my main problems are as follows..

1) There doesnt seem to be any organisation once people turn up to direct them to their allocated pitch. You are kind of left to it. I presume this is the reason why there were no electric pitches left on Puddleduck. I'm.willing to bet people who hadnt paid for an electric pitch got one anyway as there was no one there to police them. I think we couldve stayed there all year and no one would notice.

2) Why wasnt the grass on the heron way pitch cut-everywhere else seemed to be?

There was a lot of shit in places too. We have paid quite a bit of money for this break and would expect a decent standard of area to pitch. Weve been a lot of places a lot cheaper than this which have been in much better condition. As mentioned above parts of the area were really boggy - even before the storm set in.

3) As mentioned above the toilets closest to us were in pretty poor condition. Again for the amount of money we paid we would expect a lot better.

All things considered we did have a great weekend and our children did too as did our friends who came with us. But i think until the problems above are addressed you should seriously review your pricing or have more members of staff on hand to help out.

I dont think we will be going back based on the condition of the campsite alone which is a shame as it has real potential.

User

3-4 stars. Lovely short break in fantastic weather. Disappointed on arrival as no real help to locate your reserved pitch and lucky to find an electric hookup one as booked! Facilities good if a little shabby. We were lucky to have coincided with Carp in the Park show as there was live music and stalls and we booked karting onsite and used the pool. On a non-event weekend I think we’d struggle to find enough to do with our 9 year old unless joining friends. Overall not bad and the weather really helped!

User

So our first family camping experience and thoroughly disappointed with billing. Whilst the weather wasn’t in our favour and yes I understand that this can’t be helped for the staff as well but very poor indeed. We stayed at puddleduck camp site and shower area was closed, poor cleaning in the females with used sanitary wear on the floor and still there from the previous evening, showers either freezing cold or boiling which is not good AT ALL for children. Pot holes still remain around site which for a site this big you would envisage that the management should keep these in pristine condition. Lack of events on really which is thoroughly disappointing- sorry won’t be coming back in the near future

User

What a dump.

I booked a 'karting experience' through Groupon for my nephews for Christmas.

I just wished we'd checked the reviews first.

We drove onto the waterlogged, muddy and potholed site.

We were thinking where a circuit could be hiding amongst all those drap caravans and mud?

Well, easily done if the 'circuit' is the size of a postage stamp. The building was essentially a shed. I doubt I could have got my car round most of tiny track never mind 2 karts side by side. Add to that no car park - just a muddy embankment to ditch your car on. Oh, and a bunch a youngsters eyeing up the car as we went to park.

No thanks - we headed elsewhere. Even the kids didn't want to get out.

Thankfully groupon gave an immediate and no argument refund. We'll take them to another track having first checked reviews and seen it ourselves.

An absolute tip and a complete rip off for so called karting.

User

Went there last Sunday to a muddy flooded site no one told us before we arrived at how bad it was if we’d of known how bad it was we could of cancelled it was that muddy my friend got her car stuck on the way in we had three days of mud the roads and pitches were flooded on the way off my friend was bogged down and I had to push her car of the pitch it was horrendous upon leaving I couldn’t get my tourer if the pitch as it was that boggy so I had to leave it there my husband had to go and fetch it after he finished work only to also get stuck and took hours to get it out even when we both own a 4x4 my car caravan awning everything was covered in mud totally spoilt our holiday no communication of billing at all they take your money and don’t care about you once they have it I’ve e nailed billing to tell them how disgusted I am that we weren’t informed how bad the pitches were flooded but still waiting for a reply two days later and so has my friend

User

Well this was our 1st visit and definitely the last! Big deep Pot holes over all the roads! Rubbish bins over flowing and smelling! Extremely poor toilets and showers, they smelt and very dirty! Uneven and big holes on the grass pitches! Overgrown grass on pitches! Travellers onsite! No footpaths! People racing around on motorbikes! Very unsafe for children! Had to pay to use the swimming pool which was hourly slots!

Obviously no one can predict the rain, the grass area we were on flooded and waterlogged! Now we know why the grass hadn't been cut because it was so wet and waterlogged and probably a flooding area!

£144 paid for 3 nights and a complete waste of money! Staff were not helpful at all!

Definitely will not be recommending this site! Could be a good family site if money was spent on it to improve facilities, roads and pitches!!!

User

We will never be coming here again! We took our family here for three nights, there was nothing for the kids to do on the Thursday and Friday, everything was shut or closing early. Then we heard the fair opened on Saturday so my three boys was looking forward to that but when they went on the jumping jack ride they could have DIED!!! The ride shot them up so fast it hit the top of the ride and throw my three boy in the air the handle bar that is supposed to hold them in flung up and hit them in there chins and flew back down and hit there belly’s!! We are so lucky that somehow they managed to hold on!!! And they are physically ok thank god! but it has put they off rides for life! After we got them of the ride they had the nerve to try and give us back the 6 tokens back!! We then asked to see the manager and they was trying to sweep it under the carpet! We told them we want it wrote down in the incident book but they kept telling us they didn’t have one, in the end someone went to get it and my partner wrote it in! This will not be the last time you hear from us!! We have informed the HSE as well!

User

So the scam is you buy a Bottle of Gas from Owner Services for your Holiday Home for £70.00 or what ever the current price is.

But you do not get that full bottle

Some other owner on Billing Aquadrome pays cash £20.0 or so back hander to get a full bottle delivered you have paid for

You get a bottle thats less than half full thus creating a lucrative cycle for some.

and of course some of those half empty bottles coming from Billing Aquadomes Holiday lets keeping Pure Leisures Profits High

This has been going on for years I know I was a victim of this scam.

The new manager has said that things are going to change on Billing Aquadrome LOL Things will Change to suit Pure Leisure .

I have a issue that she has been dealing with for 3 months and can assure you she is no different to previous managers well actually she is worse and tell you nothing but lies just to shut you up.

Be Aware

Turnover has risen to almost £50m at Pure Leisure Group, helped by rising demand at the leisure company's UK holiday parks.

User

If I could give a minus rating I would. Appalling place. Booked to stay here for 3 days this week in a camper van. We were directed to our pitch on arrival to find it totally water logged like a lake. Apparently senior management from Pure Leisure, the company who own it spent the weekend there to inspect site due to the bad weather but still felt it appropriate to allow people in tourers to turn up and stay on totally inaccessible pitches rather than have the decency to pre-warn us and refund our money. We spent one night there and then had no choice but to give up and leave. In addition to the appalling conditions of the camping fields we were disturbed throughout the night by drunken people fighting and trying to break into caravans. The company are refusing a refund. Customer Services are very poor. I appreciate the weather has been bad and that has caused the poor condition of the campsite but the owners of this site should deal with it appropriately and not give visitors the impression everything is fine to still camp there.

User

Disgusting place and disgusting staff. The only place Ive ever been that I will never go back to. I paid for 4 nights and we packed up after 2. Was not informed that the site is built on a flood plain and was not told that some pitches flood. After 2 nights the awning was up to our ankles and we left. No help from the staff and after emailing customer services just got a default reply. Stay away
