*Open auditions for Doubt - please share*
We will be holding open auditions for our production of Doubt on Friday 7 February at 7.30pm. Directed by Sue Brackenbury, please find below all of the information including the production dates, characters and a brief intro from Sue.
Production dates: 4 - 9 May
... Characters: Father Brendan Flynn: late thirties Sister Aloysius Beauvier: fifties /sixties Sister James: twenties Mrs Muller: mid thirties (this is a BAME role)
There can be some flexibility in the ages. Accent is American or Irish/American apart from Mrs. Muller who has a small role but is vital to the story, she appears in one scene only.
Doubt, written by John Patrick Shanley is a story about a strict nun, also a school principal, who believes a priest may have behaved inappropriately with a pupil, but there is doubt. The play examines the moral uncertainties of the human heart through the structure and example of the Catholic faith in 1964 when many changes were coming to the Catholic Church and society.
We look forward to welcoming you to the auditions. If you have any further queries please let us know in the comments and we will send you Sue's contact info via private message.
