About Binfield Dog Rescue

Binfield Dog Rescue takes in strays and unwanted dogs. We care for them until a new home can be found for them. Please contact us via message or email as we’re often busy with the dogs and can’t get to the phone. We’ll get back to you asap.

Binfield Dog Rescue Description

Binfield takes in all kinds of dogs. . . strays and those no longer wanted by or able to be cared for by their owners.

We do get a large number of Staffordshire Bull Terriers and other large bull breeds that many of the other local rescues won't take in.

None of these dogs want to be stuck in the kennels and are always appreciative of a walk (unless it's an exceptionally hot or wet day! ), so you're welcome to drop in to walk a dog between 9 and 2.

update!! These beauties have gone off to their new home...thank you for sharing / liking and making it happen!
Two of the loveliest dogs in the rescue..no good with kids (I admit to giving a few seconds thought to rehoming my kids and taking the dogs😈) but if you don’t have kids under 14 or you know any adults with no kids, they’d be a lovely addition...Biscuit and Truffles are both 7 year old neutered Pomeranian girls, and as well as being the happiest dogs I’ve ever seen in... kennels, are beautiful. MUST stay together. Biscuit is obviously the biscuit coloured girl and has a slightly disturbing tendency to shower you in kisses. Truffles is the black girl, and smiles constantly. Both are happy to sit and stay when asked so seem to have been loved and well trained...maybe loved a little too much as they’re chubby and need to lose a few pounds but exercise and a Good diet will fix that. They’ve been left alone for 3-4 hours and been fine.
Biscuit isn’t keen on other dogs so a home with no dogs would be needed.

uPDATE! Eddie is still looking for his forever home, worth popping up to meet this lovely old boy!
Looking for a retirement home for Eddie, a very sweet elderly Jack Russell. His owner passed away and he’s too old to be ending his days at the rescue. He's had blood tests this week and all results are clear (we thought he might have kidney problems).

Update...thanks to everyone who helped walking this week. Happy to say all our big dogs have been rehomed!
A plea for help! We have some big dogs in that pull...we could do with strong walkers during the week who can manage a big dog as a lot of us are ladies and (without wanting to be sexist!😂) we struggle to walk them so they aren’t getting a decent walk. So if there are any men or ladies who are used to larger pulling dogs, we’d really appreciate your help! Preferably between 9.30 and 10.30, but even later on before 3pm, Monday to Friday, so that they’ve had a decent walk, it would be hugely appreciated!

UPDATE! Thank you so much for all your help! After more than a year of waiting, Dexter has found his forever home through someone’s sharing the post! You’ve no idea what this means to those of us that have fallen in love with him!
We need your help! Dexter is a very special boy and we need to find him his furever home. He’s about 7 years old, and has been with us for over a year. He’s a lovely boy, but he’s deaf so needs an understanding home. He’s not good with other dogs so... needs to be an only dog, and can’t be off lead as he can’t hear you to come back...BUT he’s great with kids and would spend the whole day playing ball! Lovely video in the comments section! PLEASE share him wherever you can and if you could all like or comment on this post it might show up to your friends...someone must know someone who needs this boy in their lives!

Have you had a dog from us? Please feel free to share a pic of them in their new homes! We volunteers fall in love with them and miss them dreadfully when they go...we’d love to hear an update! When they first arrive they seem so sad and we can sit for hours chatting to them until they’re ready for a cuddle and often build a close bond. Ones that I always wonder about (because I almost took them home with me!) are Ralph (who we though was a corgi cross jack russell), Pedro and Mr Bean (the chihuahuas), Storm the border collie, Jazz and Marlow (Bichon cross and havanese), and Nando and Nala the jack russells. But would love to see pics of any of our ex residents!

Please be assured that we do NOT put healthy dogs to sleep just because they’ve been with us a long time. We’ve housed many long term residents over the years, some have eventually been taken home by our volunteers to live out their days with them in comfort but none are put to sleep after a certain amount of time. We only put to sleep if there are severe health issues impacting quality of life or causing constant pain, or if they have severe aggression which is not improving with the help of our behaviourist and that in turn affects their quality of life if we cannot rehome and can’t get close to walk the dog ourselves without being bitten. Any posts suggesting otherwise are untrue.

Come along and support us ok Saturday morning! Walk a dog and enjoy a coffee or tea with a nice cake. All funds raised will go on vets fees and anything else our current rescues need.

Another plea for help!! Our usual scrubber is off on Friday and Monday coming. If anyone’s free to come up and help clean out the kennels from 9.30 till about 10.30/11, it would be hugely appreciated. It’s not a pleasant job...scooping poop, scrubbing the runs, changing any dirty bedding, and refilling water bowls. Anyone up for it?

User

Attention dog walkers! No walking today other than between 9.30 and 11 while we clean. Too hot for dogs walking!

Beautiful Phoebe is a gorgeous happy bouncy girl who loves cuddles. She’s an unclaimed stray so info is scarce but she need training as she’s very excitable on a lead and wants to stop for cuddles constantly. Will add better photos later.

REHOMED!!
Dibley has come in from a breeding kennel. He’s very friendly and wants cuddles, but hasn’t been socialised or walked prior to arriving so he’s getting used to life as a proper dog. He doesn’t appear house trained so would need starting from scratch letting out regularly / after meals, etc.

REHOMED!
Bullseye is a very handsome and happy boy who’s joined us this week. We have very little info about him except that he’s very happy to be here and happy to meet people and go for walks. He tries hard to cross his legs and not mess in his kennel so he seems house trained.

We could do with some extra hands to clean out kennels this week between 9.30 and 11 if anyone’s free and wouldn’t mind getting mucky! On Wednesday and Friday 2 of our usual volunteers are off...we do get ad hoc volunteers turning up but people are usually more keen to walk than clean! You’d need wellies...we provide rubber gloves! Photo just for attention!

REhOMED!!
Minnie and Tilly are best friends, they’ve come in together and would like to stay together. Minnie is a 2 year old Pointer cross (medium sized), and Tilly is a 3.5 year old black and white chihuahua cross. They are really lovely dogs and have lived with children. Tilly likes to sit on your lap for cuddles, and Minnie likes to clean Tilly...all day if necessary! Tilly barks when you look in the kennel at her, but if you go in or take them out, she’s much happier! Ca...ll or pop up tomorrow to meet them.
Editing to add....Minnie is very calm and chilled out. She relies on Tilly to do the talking for both of them. If you’re looking for 2 dogs, they really are a lovely pair...if I didn’t have 2 already myself, these would have been in my boot and wouldn’t have made it as far as the kennel. I’ve sat in with them for cuddles the last 2 mornings. Tilly jumps on my lap and settles down for a fuss, and Minnie sits at my feet with her paws on my lap. It’s been a while since I’ve fallen for 2 like I have these and as much as I’m happy to cuddle them every day, I’d far rather they went to their furever home.❤️

Update: Tetley is now being rehomed via chihuahua specialist rescue www.chihuahuapower.org 07801473222
Please contact them if you’re interested in meeting him
Tetley is an 11 year old tiny chihuahua, brought in as his family have had a change in circumstances. He’s a little bit grumpy at the moment as he doesn’t want to be here! He doesn’t like his ears being touched and as he’s so tiny, would suit a home... Without children. Give us a ring tomorrow if you’d like to meet him.
