About Bingham Riverhouse

Where modern British Cuisine meets Richmond’s riverside

Bingham Riverhouse Description

Standing by the river in Richmond Upon Thames is the Bingham, the critically acclaimed restaurant with rooms.

Situated in a beautifully restored Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, offering exquisite panoramic views across the Thames, the Bingham is a stylish urban retreat providing both the village atmosphere of Richmond and easy access to central London.

Our kitchen team, managed by Head Chef Mark Jarvis, expertly creates natural, modern British cuisine using the finest, locally sourced seasonal, sustainable ingredients. The dining room is light and airy with wooden floors and French doors opening onto a balcony, for al fresco dining. Headed up by Restaurant and Bar Manager, Davide Durante, service is attentive and knowledgeable. A great value market lunch is available Monday to Saturday, with a special lunch on Sundays. A la carte and Mystery menus are available throughout the week and Afternoon tea is available daily.

The Bingham has 15 individually designed guestrooms each named after a French poet. Every detail is carefully considered from the retro telephones, l’Occitane toiletries and orchids found in every bedroom.

It is also a perfect wedding venue where guests can exchange their vows in a romantic riverside hideaway and stay in the luxurious bridal suite, Beaudeliare.

Built in 1740 the Bingham has been painstakingly restored and is now a beautiful restaurant with rooms, salon and terrace, refurbished in a style which mixes period features with modern designs creating a luxurious place to unwind.

From Shakespeare to Les Miserables, there’s little the multi Olivier Award-winner hasn’t tackled in his four decades as an actor. Gorgeous Autumnal shades in our Iris Room (one of our Cosy Bedrooms). As the mercury drops and the days shorten, hunker down in front of the fire downstairs in the lounge with a lovely glass of red before retreating to your room. 🍁🍂

Yesterday I attended a wedding at the Bingham. What a beautiful setting for a wedding right beside the river there. The staff were excellent very attentive. The food for the wedding breakfast was superb. I had the vegetarian option (as a none meat eater), i have no idea what it was but I've never tasted anything like it before! It's possible it was quinoa and I think it was a pea purée but whatever it was it was very tasty, with various other veg in one plate it was excellent. The dessert was strawberry parfait and strawberry sorbet with honeycomb pieces ... absolutely fabulous. I couldn't fault it. What a perfect day 🥂🎩👰🍾

User

The Bingham were fantastic last night. Best food ever, superb service, amazing wine and beautiful view of river and garden during a rainy but balmy evening. Loved dining on the balcony. They excelled with a special touch of giving us pieces of delicious homemade fudge for our anniversary. And there was a wedding going on below treating us to the best of the 90's tunes! The bride and groom must be our age!!

User

Stayed here for two nights with my family. Had my morning tea in the garden watching an otter swim by and the oarsmen working hard. Sat in the Cooper tub, with my daughter in our Large River Room, drinking milk and feeling blessed. In this hotel they EXCEED expectations. They make it happen! An evening cigar for my husband or VIP treatment for my three year old. This place is pure bliss! Thank you all! Caroline Lempert, Copenhagen

Returned to The Bingham last night for a second time and it lived up to the delight we had on our first visit. 4 people dining, 4 different choices for each course, each of whom was convinced they had chosen the best option for each course. Attentive but not intrusive service. Thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you!

User

One of the prettiest gardens set in the most beautiful locations The Bingham is 5 star. It’s staff are the friendliness and most helpful and the barbecue was unquestionably the best we’ve ever had. From start to finish my wedding was flawless. An unforgettable time! Thank You!

User

Love the name. Should we ever cross the Atlantic, we will surely visit! :-)

User

Had a wonderful stay at the Bingham hotel. Our riverside room was amazing and the bed so comfortable. Staff increadably polite and made you feel really welcomed. Eggs benedict for breakfast was scrummy. Well worth paying £10 for the car park which is just across the road. Wouldn't need to think twice about staying at The Bingham.

User

Had a lovely afternoon tea for Mother’s Day, lovely location for a nice stroll along the river Thames after. Staff were very attentive, nothing was to much trouble, would definitely recommend to others.

User

Beautiful setting, excellent service, scrumptious food! I attended a wonderful birthday party here, would highly recommend as a venue.

User

Awesome staff and venue, afternoon tea was delicious, this was a birthday treat and the staff made my day very special. Will definitely be back!

User

Attended a Wedding Party over the weekend. Fabulous hotel, fantastic setting, delicious food. All made to feel welcome. Would definitely recommend.

User

Amazing food, exceptional service, great location.

Food was spot on. Very well cook and presented.

Service was 10/10. Very attentive staff, very friendly, didn't rush us like some places do for there quick turnaround. Sitting outside for drinks after was a little bit windy so staff double checked we where ok. Defiantly worth every penny we paid.

Great cocktails and wine list.

User

A hidden gem on the river Thames, location is idyllic, food is superb and staff impeccable! I'd say 7 stars out of 5! Look forward to celebrating many more anniversaries in this lovely place!

User

2nd visit for lunch brought my husband this time to celebrate our 30th Anniversary, cannot fault the sevice, food is superb extremely tasty and very well presented, great selection of wines and the view is stunning, couldn't ask for more, well and tricky worth the trip from Kent borders

User

Outstanding staff and service, loved the food especially the deserts Eaton mess a favourite.

Why would you not keep on coming back here!

User

Went there for my birthday on the 14th of may for afternoon tea and loved the location staff very friendly, very attentive but the components of the tea was very poor could have done it at home . Glass of champagne was charged on top....I wouldn't go back just for the price...

User

Great bar, good food. We had the set menu which was good value and had a good selection. Unfortunately the service that night was really slow. We kept running out of wine, the mains came straight after the starters and we had trouble even getting the staff's attention. The team were nice but they must have been short staffed or something. It did spoil the night as we expected a more seamless experience.

User

Afternoon tea. A mixed bag...the furniture was awkwardly low and the sandwiches very run of the mill. I can't fault the attentiveness of the staff and the scones and macaroon were lovely and fresh. Quite expensive when compared to other afternoon teas I have had. Over all it was nice enough.
