Bingley St Ives Golf Club Description

Situated within the historic St. Ives estate on the edge of Bingley, West Yorkshire, Bingley St. Ives offers a truly enjoyable and testing golf experience to players of all standards.

Dating back to 1931, today’s course layout offers an 18-hole, par 71, championship standard test which ranks among the best in Yorkshire and can boast the input of Dr. Alister MacKenzie, one of the recognized greats of golf course design in its early layout development. Many of his trademark influences can still be seen as integral elements of the course today.

The unusual single loop course layout takes golfers from parkland, to woodland, to moorland and back again during the course of 18 holes and offers stunning views along the Aire Valley towards Bradford and Leeds, across the famous Bronte moorlands to the west and the imposing Rombalds Moor in the direction of Ilkley and the North.

Golf News:
The new golf season is shortly upon us and all golfers throughout the UK will start coming to terms with all the changes that are now in place for the season. I will be updating Members on any Rules that are causing confusion as and when they are raised throughout the year, in the meantime please note two New Local Rules that apply solely to Bingley St Ives Golf Club.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTION
... All roads and paths are treated as immovable obstructions, including the road and accompanying fences which cross Hole 18. Relief may be taken under Rule 16.
This means that should a players ball finish on the lane crossing the 18th and Not Out of Bounds - a player can take relief without penalty by playing their next shot with Full Relief plus one Clubs Length back on the 18th fairway.
If a players ball rests near to the accompanying fences but not on the lane then the same Full Relief is available. Please note that should the ball be on the Greens side of the Lane then Full Relief can be taken on that side of the lane.
REVETTED BUNKER
A ball embedded in the revetted face is NOT within the bunker and relief may be obtained in the general area under Rule 16.3
This means that should a player have a ball embedded in a Revetted Bunker then relief can be taken outside the bunker but no nearer the hole.

User

Top class course, welcoming professional staff- brilliant!

User

Took my 2 yr old grandson there had a great time.really good play area for the kids and plenty of paths to walk if you like walking .fairly accessible for a mobility scooter but there are some steps I noticed on some of the trails.my grandson loved seeing the horses which where all around the main road in and the car park.I would recommend the chocolate orange cake at the cafe..

Just wish I had had more time to spend there.

First time playing at Bingley St Ives golf course. The weather was fine and sunny to start the day off on the right foot. pro shop reception was very good and welcoming the gentleman explained everything to us and indicated that the group in front were doing 18 Holes. So finding our way round was good.

The fairways were kept short for this time of year and in general good condition. Green's were fair to good but fast considering the damping from previous nights rain .

Course in most part had a bit of something challenging and different which was a good point. All in all a great days golf and the 19th hole was welcoming. Definitely play there again Andy fair price to go with it

Many thanks till next time
