Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are common bacterial infections, affecting 150 million people per year worldwide. UTIs are highly prevalent in women, affecting an estimated 50% in their lifetime. A major issue with UTIs is recurrence of infection associated with the ability of uropathogenic bacteria to form biofilms. BioTryp Therapeutics is developing biofilm inhibitors to prevent and treat recurrent urinary tract infections.
