Our team have been out last night and this morning working with the army bomb disposal team regarding suspected ordinance. On this occasion the item was declared safe and taken away by the Royal logistics corps.
If you stumble across possible ordinance, on or near the coast, please dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
Likewise in any coastal emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

The incident at Belle tout is now over. The cordon has been lifted and the area is now open. We would like to thank the public for there cooperation whilst the incident was resolved.
