Birmingham Changing Futures Together

About Birmingham Changing Futures Together

Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, Birmingham Changing Futures Together improves the effectiveness of service provision to those with multiple and complex needs by creating a ‘community of support' comprising organisations in the sector, identifying and sharing best practice and establishing new approaches. We are pioneering new ways of working involving services led by those with lived experience, the use innovative technology and close partnerships with specialist agencies across the city. The result is a faster, better informed and more unified approach to support. We also have a focus on learning and system change to make sure the new approaches developed through this project become mainstream across all services in Birmingham and have a positive lasting impact on support for those with multiple and complex needs for years to come. An individual is considered to have multiple and complex needs (also known as multiple disadvantages) when they are currently experiencing two or more of the following: homelessness, mental health difficulties, substance misuse, and risk of re-offending. It is estimated that 58, 000 people in England experience multiple and and complex needs per year.
