January has been a busy month for our team at our Birmingham Centre.
Thank you for all your support.

“With your help we can build a better future for stray dogs in your local area”
This gorgeous girl came into our care this week. She is underweight and very nervous - owner has not yet been traced.
We are giving her the love and care she needs. She has a very kind heart 💚. She has taken to one of our canine carers and is slowly showing her personality to him. It will take time but we will ensure she gets to care she needs to come out of her shell when she is ready.

🌟 Dog of the Week - Patch 🌟
This is a face that just melts your heart!
Patch is an energetic young dog who is looking to be the only dog in the home. He can be very strong on the lead and will need to continue his training when he finds his new home.
... He is happiest when enjoying cuddles in our paddocks and is finding kennel life quite stressful. To get to know his true character we highly recommend asking to see him out of his kennel.

Pets at Home managers lend a hand at our Birmingham Centre.
Today we were fortunate enough to have managers from our region who used their charity day to help our stray dogs.
Our team have had them cleaning the kennels, stuffing kongs, walking the dogs and getting the feeds ready - it’s been a very busy day!
... We can’t thank them enough for their ongoing support.

Pupils from Castle Bromwich Junior School have helped raise over £550 by holding a pyjama day on Friday.
They have had a few visits from our education team and wanted to give back to our stray dogs.
We caught up with a few pupils to see what they thought about their hard work and if they could inspire more children to help charities.

You’ve got to love early morning walks watching the sun rise. It’s looking beautiful at our Birmingham Centre this morning. 🌤

There have been reports of a suspected case of Alabama Rot in the West Midlands.
We wanted to share our video which helps give you some advice from our vets on what to look out for and what you should do if you are worried.
Here are their top tips -
... ▪️Wash your dogs thoroughly after muddy walks ▪️Avoid muddy areas ▪️Consult your vet if you are worried.
It is still a very rare disease and very little is known about it, please be vigilant and understand what to look out for. If you are at all worried please consult your vet.
