great venue with friendly staff who know how to make a beaut espresso martini... decent events on aswell! would recommend hitting it up if your in the dalston area...
Such an awesome place, siiiick basement venue
Really like this place.
Great venue with loads of different types of events - a little bit for everyone. Bar staff is lovely, have a good selection of beers/ales and yummy cocktails !!

we went to a hermitude gig here which was awesome. before the set we had drinks upstairs and then headed downstairs. it's intimate but loads of fun. drinks are standard prices and the tickets were very reasonable.
Great place, sound downstairs is pretty amazing, definitely worth a visit.
Just because the waitress at the bar was clearly high... no way she could have been that slow and mentally absent otherwise. I actually had to wave at her after waiting for 10 minutes with my wallet in my hand, while she poured herself a drink and chatted to a guy. Please let me know where she gets her weed from, must be fantastic.
They’re happy to take money for a booking, not so happy to pay back a deposit after cancelling a show. Failing payments twice? Really? Pay up.
The security personnel of this place think they are dealing with criminals instead of clients. Last night one of them started to interrogate me on the door after he let me go to get some cigs and after I’d spent loads of money in the bar and paid the entrance to the 2 gigs, this bouncer just decided to not let me back only because he can. Disgusting attitude and I hope you’re reading this review because i would never recommend this place to anyone because of you, such a loser this only shows that type of people you are and you will always live in the dark and cold at the door of a night club LOSER!
The security didn't let me in just because i didn't have physical copy of my ID. There was no information about ID check on event page. Even though I showed them a picture of my ID on my phone and told them I've left it at home to not loose it they started to be rude to me and my friends who had ID's and they told us that none of us will be let in. After that I saw a group of girls and one of them didn't have ID aswell but she showed a bank card to security guy and he let her in and when I told him that I saw that he lied that she showed him ID but we all saw that she didn't. It was discriminating behavior. We've bought tickets online so our money is gone. If they treat people like this they should work in a prison but not in a club. I will never go there again.
Saw Anchorsong here last year. Anchorsong was superb but the venue left a lot to be desired. It was unpleasantly packed shoulder to shoulder almost right back to the exit doors. Gig was sold out and the guest list of hangers on was as long as your arm so that explains that. Why there was only 1 poor bar/cloakroom person working hard trying to do their best (but totally swamped) was more of a mystery. Unpleasant, not the one. Could be so much better as the physical set up is nice.
Off-licence prices without being an off-licence.
