COVID19 – Bishop Auckland Town Council How very quickly life has changed in the past few weeks. While we looked ahead to welcome spring, the lighter evenings and the lovely things that come with it such as events in the town, Mayoral fundraising events, the Youth Awards and VE Day commemorations, we are now facing unprecedented and uncertain times. Naturally people are scared, anxious, frightened and overwhelmed, so, to try and help with important information the Town Coun...cil will keep updating Facebook and our website with regular updates and guidance from the Government, Durham County Council, Police and Fire Services, and more locally the Area Action Partnership (AAP) and other organisations who we work in partnership with. Although the Council office is currently closed, we are still contactable via e mail: council@bishopauckland-tc.gov.uk or our Facebook Page. Our allotment sites are still open to tenants only. Council Members were concerned about the health and well being of tenants who felt they had to come into town to pay their rent, and were also aware that many people may find themselves in financial difficulty over the coming months, so to alleviate this we have written to all tenants to advise that rent that has not been paid will be postponed until further notice, it is hoped that this will help ease the burden in a small way. Please listen to advice: Stay in, Stay Safe, Protect our frontline staff.

Thought this could be a good way to entertain the little ones at home - just make sure you stay in your own garden or 2m away from any one not in your household if doing the outdoor activities on a walk in your local area!
