Bishops Stortford Karate (U.K.A) Description

Come and learn karate in the Bishops Stortford area. Bishop’s Stortford Karate UKA is run by 4 time European Champion and 3 time World Champion Sensei Shauna Carroll. Classes are available for children & adults alike, at all levels.

United Karate Association (UKA) was founded in 1981 by Sensei Ian Cuthbert as a karate club and under his guidance it has transformed into an all round sporting and academic association, providing coaching and tuition in a variety of disciplines and platforms.

Our dedicated team of instructors are fully insured, checked via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and are enthusiastic in improving students of all ages athletically, academically and in their personal lives.

The UKA network has expanded into a variety of areas and schools and is very proud of its instructing team and existing students /parents, without whom we would not be where we are today.

We teach both traditional and sport Karate and offer a challenging opportunity to learn a great Martial Art.

Our Instructors teach the same syllabus and grading criteria. However, all offer their own unique teaching style and personality. Our network of clubs is spread throughout Essex, Hertfordshire and London. We attract students from all over the country with some travelling great distances to train with us. We are a very progressive club that strives to be at the forefront of sport in this country, as our instructors are always looking for ways to improve.

As we like to say at this club, "you never stop learning" and gaining a black belt is "only the beginning".

Karate is a great way to develop yourself or your child and increase fitness, confidence and self esteem whilst becoming part of a club that values unity. There is something for the whole family at UKA, as parents often train alongside their children and get involved.

If you are looking to be a champion or simply learn how to defend yourself while getting fitter and making new friends then a UKA club is right for you.

Huge congratulations to Jay, Leila and Anton for achieving your dan grade at the grading last night. You have all shown that hard work, commitment and determination pays off and should be so incredibly proud of yourselves. You are all an absolute credit to our club and fantastic role models for our younger students.
Congratulations as well to Georgie (UKA North Weald), Fahim and Vlad (UKA Woodford) for also achieving their Dan grade last night.
