Went for lunch on Sunday, it has a lovely atmosphere, we were greeted by a nice young man who offered to take our coats and seat us. The waiter took our drinks order and was very pleasant, it felt like the staff were a well oiled machine and they actually knew what they were doing, this can be rare in other restaurants. I ordered the Sunday lunch (pork) which came with cauliflower cheese with a twist. It had Stilton in (optional) it was scrummy! Our seat had a great view of the city busying for Christmas. All three of us will be back.

We visited at 6.30 so busy but not hectic. Straight to our table for drinks & nibble starters. Had the ribeye which was amazing. My lad is a fussy eater but I’ve never seen him eat as much. The service was great & the piano man just adds to it. Hope to visit again.

No matter what you see in the other reviews from obviously not normal people, this place is fantastic. We was served drinks straight away in the bar by a barman that had top banter. We was shown to our table by the hostess who could not have been nicer. We was then looked after by Jess who constantly asked if everything was ok. The food and drink was amazing. Overpriced???? Get real!!! Very reasonable. All over amazing experience. Can't wait to go again !!

I'm not one to usually do reviews but last night after being turned away from the new Dakota bar and grill on Greek street because the door staff said we couldn't come in with how we were dressed (start casual) we'd been out shopping through the day then in a few bars on Greek street so wasn't in shirts and shoes! We walked round to blackhouse bar and grill we didn't have a table booked and now conscious of how we were dressed the staff welcomed us in and got us a table after a brief wait at the bar. We sat down and ordered the USDA ribeye steak after our waiter highly recommended it with half lobster and it was amazing!! During our time there I got tooth ache and waiter helped me out by getting me pain killers, my friend has run out of cigarettes and asked if they sold them in which the manager came back with a cigerette and lighter for him! So all in all I could not praise the staff here anymore they greeted us and made us feel welcome (even though we weren't dressed up) then to do all that for us is just exceptional service and I could but recommend this restaurant anymore!

Had a lovely meal last night. Fantastic steak as usual. We had Rib Eye it was beautiful. Cocktails were amazing and great service as always.

Absolutely amazing! Really surprised reading some of these bad reviews - we absolutely loved it. Great food, lovely decor and atmosphere; the pianist was brilliant! Service was spot on, menu lovely and cocktails really good.. can't say a bad word about this place. Will definitely be back! We finished our night sat on the outside terrace with a dessert - pouring with rain but we were sat by the heaters under the covering. Top marks!

The steak was very mediocre and very overpriced. A sirloin steak that was about £4.00's worth and chips that came as a side which were slightly better than burger take out chips. Wanted to charge £35.00 for an average bottle of merlot. Very disappointed and nothing special at all. I've had better steaks in local pubs at a tenner a throw. Staff were pleasant and friendly service was ok apart from they got the steaks mixed up! Will never return.

Arrived Saturday evening at 6.45 stood at the bar for 20 minutes trying to get a drink only 2 bar staff on and restaurant full, lots of people in jackets(staff) doing not much could helped bar team??? Food good but very overpriced for what it is, charging £2.50 for sauce on a£47 steak outrageous, lovely room, our server was lovely but wouldn't go back

Ordered 3 rare roast Sunday lunches + one combo roast beef and pork to share. The beef was nice and rare but stringy and impossible to cut. Pork was dry and resembled dry leather. With the exception of the cabbage all the food was Luke warm. Pork was supposed to come with crackling - no crackling. Desserts were ok. Cost over £100+ All in all very disappointing as we travelled over to Leeds to take our daughter who is at university out for Sunday lunch as a surprise treat. Spoilt the day.

Nice steak but WOW way too expensive. We went for the sharing platter with a 1kg ribeye. Sadly it was only the size of one big steak, the majority of the 1kg was bone(!?!?). I would also have thought, for £55 and it being a “sharing” platter, that we would have got 2 portions of fries......sadly not, we only got 1!!!!! Felt really ripped off. Top tip, go for the individual steak, they are still £21-30 but at least you will get a reasonable sized meal and some fries!! Won’t be going back, I can get a better steak and a better portion size elsewhere for half the price.

Service was shocking , waitress was rude , felt like everything was too much trouble for her and everything was a massive effort!

We’d booked a table for 20:00, as we were celebrating a friend’s birthday, there was only four of us. Our friend who had booked the table received an email, asking to move the booking back to 20:30, the night before the booking. We weren’t happy about it, but agreed. We turned up at 20:15 to be told, but a very rude woman, that our booking had been moved back to 20:45, without any notice or consent to do so. We went across to another venue to get a drink, then we headed back. We stood near the bar, which was so busy it wasn’t even worth waiting to get served, we’ll be sat down eating soon right? Wrong! We didn’t sit down until 21:15, that was after asking when we would be seated, being spoken to very rudely by two female members of staff. The lady who did serve us was an absolute diamond! She was so helpful and attentive, we couldn’t fault her. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t get better, our drinks didn’t arrive until we asked to find out where they were, by which time we had almost finished our meals. One of our desserts came out so late the rest of us had finished, and we’re still waiting on more drinks. The food was amazing and genuinely can’t be faulted, our server was very good at her job, and the guy on the piano was astounding. It’s just a shame that the service didn’t match. I’m afraid to say, I don’t think I’d want to return, I’d rather try another restaurant on my next visit to Leeds.

Got sat down at 5.15 and asked for some water and also ordered warm bread and olives for starter and steaks for main. An hour later still not received anything not even the water !! When asked the waiter,who served us, we got told I hadn't ordered a starter !! He then replied you can't have it because we haven't any bread !!!! Asked for the manager and all she could say was sorry and offered no reason why we were sat there a hour with nothing. We ended up walking out with no food and only offered a email address to complain. So beware this place has changed for the worse
