Blackdown Luxury Lettings is a five star luxury self catering lettings business located in the heart of the Blackdown Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty, on the boarders of Devon and Somerset.
Melanie Alford started Blackdown Luxury Lettings as a new letting company with two 5 Star properties in 2010. Melanie lives in the heart of the Blackdown Hills, the secret gem of Devon and Somerset, where she manages Foxhill Farm.
Both of the properties have been successfully marketed for many years and have catered for family holidays, stag and hen parties, corporate meetings, large groups and relaxing breaks.
This fabulous setting offers plenty to entertain all ages, with numerous events and days out available all year round.
The facilities at both properties are of a high standard with indoor swimming pools, making Millgrove House and Wayside House the perfect luxury family holiday accommodation.

Feedback!! ***** 10 out of 10 feedback from our lovely guests who stayed at Foxhill Lodge over the weekend. Could you recommend any days out?: Trip to Beer, Lyme Regis and the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth were all close enough, we even found happened across the Colyford Goose Fayre, a local event that was wonderfully entertaining in the beautiful weather.
... Any comments on what you particularly enjoyed and how we could have improved the experience for you? We were all most impressed by just how comfortable and well catered for we were, there was nothing more that could have made the experience better.

Stayed at Greenswangs for the weekend and had an amazing time. The quality of entire house was definitely 5 star and the housekeepers were lovely! If there was one small thing we could think of perhaps it would be better with flooring in the living rooms. This being said we loved the whole house and will absolutely be back in the future! ⭐️
Beautiful house. Owner was very welcoming. Had a brilliant time. Would recommend!

To think this company has been able build up a business, is beyond me. The lady who dealt with us had zero respect and a serious lack of manners. We had planned and anticipated this weekend for months, just to be kicked out early for no legitimate reason. Do not use this company what so ever!
The way you handled our situation was appalling and completely unprofessional. I strongly suggest you consider a different profession rather than one where you have to deal with people. The fact that you had the audacity to say some of the nasty things you said and the rude manner in which you said them is outrageous. You are doing an injustice to the company who have hired you and i think you owe everyone who you threw your hands up at too an apology.....
You of course promised we would receive money back just to get us out of the house...and considering you have taken over £4500 for 12 hours on the property that is APPALLING.
ANYONE considering this house to rent DO NOT, they will take your money and not follow through with any of their promises... they took our money and unlawfully broke into the home WE HAD RENTED after five minutes.... you said a 12 hour warning before anyone could come in the house..

Rude is an understatement to describe the owners attitude towards our group. We were insulted in so many ways and treated with absolutely no respect. When asked to leave the owner didn't care or take into consideration that she would be making some leave the premises intoxicated, which thankfully didn't end in any danger. Complete waste of money. Would not reccomend this premises for a good time.

I am not normally one to do this, but on this occasion, I felt it was only humane that I make some sort of effort to prevent others from potentially starting 2017 in the manner that LetDown Luxury Lettings have forced me to suffer. I will not go into details, because of the strictly personal information indelibly linked to this case, however the heinous, vile and downright ornery owners of this sham must be called out. I genuinely would have more chance getting the Grinch to hang up my Christmas stockings than I would have extricating an inch of humanity and compassion from this decadent farce. After politely trying to sort out some issues, a friend was met as if one had thrown a nuclear bomb into an apiary. I am a stoic man and this is not a hyperbolic reaction to mistreatment, I merely wish to alert my fellow man to the mistreatment I and many others have felt at the hands of these undercover criminals.
Never in my life have we ever encountered such a 'women' to deal with. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN. If you are looking to have any fun at all DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. £4,500 for 12 hours. When the police arrived to defuse the situation they even said to the women who owned to leave the premises because she was making the situation 10x worse!!!! Shocking!!!! WAYSIDE = WASTESIDE.
Never have I come across such a rude, poorly mannored woman, I can't believe she makes a living in hospitality. Don't bother wasting your time with her
Money grabbing evil creature with a bad attitude and has no sense of how to act like a human being.
If you've ever watched Matilda you'll have heard of Miss Trunchbull. Now imagine her but 10 times worse looking to ruin a group of friends New Year's Eve out of pure joy and only looking to compromise by squeezing more cash out of us. Words can't describe how much you need stay away from this property. Horrible owner.

I don't really know where to begin and will be fairly brief. As a group we had such anticipation and high hopes leading up to this weekend and to our dismay we were treated with minimal respect and the owner was nothing but rude and cruel. I would strongly advise against booking to stay here
Had to deal with a horrible rude women that completely ruined our weekend away. If your looking to book somewhere for a fun weekend I would never ever recommend this place to anyone!
HORRIFIC. The owner of this property is the definition of evil. We came down expecting the most amazing NYE as a family and it turned out to be the worst experience of my life. She violated our personal space by putting her hand in our faces and being the most rude, vulgar women you will ever meet. Do not let this disgrace of a women have a single penny of your money. There will be plenty more lovely hosts around Devon that won't ruin your NYE and scam you of £4500.
