About Blackheath Society

The Blackheath Society exists to preserve and enhance the Blackheath area.

Blackheath Society Description

With a large membership and active body of volunteers, the Blackheath Society works on a wide variety of activities which will enhance the well being of our area for its continued enjoyment by current and future generations. If we hadn't spoken up and acted over the years, Blackheath and the Village would not be the place it is today - one of the most popular residential areas of London! As a public voice of Blackheath, we work with local councils and representatives, other amenity groups, businesses, the police, the press, English Heritage and anyone who can help support the area.

Did you know the National Grid will start tunneling under Blackheath and Greenwich Park in July to replace existing electricity circuits deep in underground tunnels as part of London’s Power Tunnels project? The blue line on the maps denotes the tunnel route. More info at http://londonpowertunnels.co.uk/ .
