Never a dull moment! awoken this morning to phone calls of a sheep stuck on the roof, and they weren't wrong!! Luckily 'dolly' is down safe and all the firemen are now enjoying a cup of tea and bacon butty!

This is a fab place to stay fantastic views-such friendly and kind staff and the room we stayed in was 5*.We've been back twice and hope to visit again soon. There are such great walks round about too....x

Such a great place to stay to enjoy Masham and exploring the local area by foot. Room was lovely and food was brilliant! Thoroughly recommend!

Me and my partner recently stayed here on the two night deal which was a 2 night stay, breakfast, 2 course evening meal and a bottle of presecco. The deal was worth more than what we paid!! The food was to a very high standard. The rooms were lovely, really clean, modern everything you'd want for a short stay. The staff were really friendly and always making sure everything was ok. I can't fault anything would definitely stay here again .

Just had a few days there with my girlfriend the room was spot on the people brilliant i can recommend this hotel to everyone views are stunning food is good all in all we had a really good time there.

Just had a relaxing stay with my husband. Our room was lovely, good sized, clean, comfortable with a great en suite and lovely views. The staff were friendly and food was served to a very good standard. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Nice place to stay. Nothing much to do in any direction. Nice for a rest but not one for party people.

Just back from a two night break bought from Wowcher at Black Swan. Would have written review whilst there but refused to pay for WiFi. The staff are very pleasant as is the food, although food quite expensive. We got two course dinner with the deal. The rooms initially looked fine, large but a little bare. Paintwork scraped in two rooms we saw. Bathroom also looked good but not sealed and contiboard delaminated. Very noisy in rooms. Each time a toilet was flushed, there was water hammer noise. Fire alarm sounded at 8.30 in morning,no apologies forthcoming. Could hear fans from other bedrooms. Perfectly adequate break for what we paid but wouldn't pay any more.

Good food , NIce room but not enough staff on duty. Waitress, receptionist server and bar staff all the same poor girl... Prosecco deal a bit if a cheat, should have advertised it correctly not a bottle but a glass. Overall nice stay. Lots of refurbishment ongoing and main pub was a little dark and in inviting.

Living social deal 2 nights bed breakfast with evening meal and a 'bottle' of prosecco. Check in ok showed to our room which I'm glad wasn't in the pub which is very run down and a bit foists. Room was lovely and food very high quality. We reminded staff that our deal included a bottle of prosecco. The staff then brought us a mini bottle of prosecco and 2 glasses. Hahaha what a cheat ! Staff said well it "is a bottle". Yeah but what about yr bottles of wine!!! This is what I'll remember about the black swan "a toy bottle of prosecco" food and bedroom good, not enough staff and feel cheated. It shd have been advertised as a "glass" of prosecco

To check in you have to be there 3pm unless you get a rude welcome from the owner and told your late and have pissed him off..... Arrived at 1pm, the place was shut and came back at 7.45pm?! Confirmation email states check in is from 3pm onwards and if your arriving after 10pm to let them know...... Never been welcomed so rudely and wouldn't return
