Surely this Saturday is all about England v Sweden and bbq parties. To celebrate we’re going to be offering some great specials for those bbqs

supplying Coggeshall Town FC with great food, chef Mark you are the talk of the stand with your amazing sausage rolls #huge always a great service and delivered cooked and ready to serve

Whose got my Goat today? � 1 batch marinated in Jamaican spice . Another for a goat curry night.

Looks Valentines might be a week long � of home cooked yummy ness !

We went with Blackwells to cater our wedding at the popular new wedding venue Houchins (literally just down the road!) in June this year. It was one of the best wedding decisions we made!



We contacted the 6 caterers on the 'list' at Houchins, and unfortunately only one got back to us and was available to do it (one other took a month to reply- did not inspire a lot of confidence!). I didn't like their food (or their price tag!). So on request of my father-in-law who is a regular at the shop, we contacted Mark Woodyard who is the chef there for a tasting.



The meeting was really productive and Mark was really helpful in helping us decide the practicalities that you wouldn't have even thought of! (e.g what proportion of people would go for chicken vs lamb, how many canapes would be enough, number of waiters needed).



The food was amazing, such beautiful presentation, and the selection was quite diverse (we had thai fish cakes as starters , and all sorts of posh canapes like pear and gorgonzola wrapped in parma ham which people raved about!). The hog roast was also amazing, they brought the whole hog on a spit!



At the Wedding itself, the waiters/waitresses that Mark had arranged were sharply dressed and very enthusiastic.



All in all, the food was 5 star, and yet such good value as it was no where near the price quoted by the other caterer, and the food was better!



Can't thank Mark Woodyard enough and the team for all their hardwork! Houchins should get them on the list by now if they haven't yet!

Superb , friendly staff , always cheerful , love the meat they sell you can't get a better shop for your meat , massive variety and a good selection of extras :)

Second visit yesterday, top selection of meat and local produce

Popped in for something for dinner and bought some of the 'Old English' sausages - absolutely fabulous! Can't wait to cook the leg of lamb for my family next Sunday! Will definitely be back regularly xxx

Just fabulous. When you are busy barbecuing and yours smells the best in the neighbourhood. Just fantastic meat!

I just wanted to say a big thank-you!



Our pork shoulder was totally delicious last night (I made pulled pork burgers for my daughters 19th birthday!) I slow roasted it for 4 hours!! Wonderfully tender and full of flavour!



Then..the desert/birthday cake was a hand made chocolate roulade filled with fresh cream and fresh raspberries!! It was beautifully made and totally delicious!.. Hand made/baked by Blackwells too!



Wow how lucky are we, that you are just up the road from Coggeshall! I always feel reassured that when I buy anything from Blackwells farm shop, that it is always of the highest quality and responsibly sourced! �

I just visited the farm with my parents for the first time. It was absolutely great; a really nice atmosphere and the range of food was amazing!! The fish stool outside is really good too. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be coming back �

I have buying turkeys and produce every Xmas for over 20 years from Mr Blackwell...I have never faulted it top quality food and superb turkeys and of cause exceptional service ..I highly recommend them ..

Have been to Herons Farm many times over the years for our meat. Fantastic for Michaelmas, Christmas and New Year food (birds or beef), give them a try if you haven’t before.



Once you’ve done this, and been suitably impressed go back to try the other meat available - beef, pork, lamb and poultry. The development of the farm shop has been great for the farm. You are free to browse and if you have any questions you can ask one of the staff. The shop will be able to tell you where the meat they sell has come from, if it not produced on site.



We got a Blackwell’s Chicken for Sunday this weekend.

These aren’t your supermarket chicken, these are big, they are allowed to grow and they are tasty. To be honest you might believe you were getting a small turkey if it wasn’t labelled. We also got chipolatas and streaky smoked bacon to make our own pigs in blankets and some curly kale. All fantastic flavours.



We have never been disappointed by the produce we have got from Blackwell’s. give them a go, we don’t think you’ll regret it.

Had a lovely roast dinner today, all purchased from the farm shop. The chicken cooked very well and was full of flavour. Nice selection of vegetables and finished off with lovely pecan pastries and ice cream.

Fantastic shop, been using them for 4 years. Sausages are best around, the fresh pies are delicious and can never resist the nibbles on the counter. Staff are always so friendly and welcoming.

Blackwells catered our wedding at a friend's farm in Braintree in June 2015 and despite there being no formal kitchen set up they were absolutely brilliant. The food was great, the staff were lovely and they made the whole thing completely stress free. A big thank you to Mark Woodyward and his team.

Another lovely barbecue thanks to the array of delicious Blackwells burgers, sausages, kebabs etc. With such a variety of fresh and tasty produce week after week, barbecue's are never boring.

A proper Farm Shop found at last , fresh veg fresh meats cheeses everything that should be in a farm shop brilliant will defienty be back !!

Interesting place, quite a variety of things for sale, not cooked the steak yet but the bacon was nice, sad that no one there that knew much about the cheeses

This business is disgusting. Would you do to the dog in that picture what you do to those defenceless, innocent turkeys?

Why not choose morality over abuse and turn the site into a no kill animal sanctuary where sentient beings get to live out their days peacefully and free from unnecessary suffering? I along with thousands of others in the rapidly growing vegan/animal liberation movement would be happy to donate money and volunteer our time.
