To our fantastic customers and friends. It’s goes without saying that the Covid 19 crisis has affected all beach operations for the foreseeable future. This of course will depend on government guidance and lockdown restrictions. If in the next few months they are reduced / lifted we will endeavour to do our best to get up and running as soon as possible. However, there will come a cut off time for placing out our beach huts where it will not be viable to do so with fact...ors of cost and the short amount of time that they would be out. We may be in a position to place a few out should anyone wish to hire for a set amount of weeks and some for day lets. For those that have made deposits and payments for beach huts we will of course offer a full refund or save the fees for next season.
These pictures are from last Easter, the most important thing is for everyone to stay safe and in their own homes. It will be a strange Summer for us all, but this all certainly makes you appreciate the wonderful beach that we are all able to enjoy at Ventnor.

We've been down here most the night, although preparations were made to protect our business from tonight’s weather. Which was pretty well forecasted spot on with a slow moving cold front that had a strong southerly wind at a steady 30, gusting 50 knots for 12 hours or more leading up to high water at around 02:20 this morning which was 4.8metres. This is the worst kind of wind direction that drives the sea onshore and straight up the beach; over the road. This isn’t a messag...e of sympathy, just to bring home that Ventnor is a very unique place. All of our huts get removed at the end of the year however, in front of our tea hut we had built up the wooden staging area in order to protect it in the hope we didn’t have to remove it each year (it's been there 6 years). It is an ever increasing risk to keep the Blake’s beach business running in Ventnor that is largely down to the love of the town and the opportunity to work on this stunning beach. It is though very difficult to expand on our business when we are in such an area where we are fairly unprotected against the type of weather we’ve had throughout tonight.

Cracking Easter weekend at Ventnor beach 🏖🐥

We have the t hut open over this weekend to kick off British Summer 2019. The mist is due to clear this afternoon 😎🏖☀️

A busy weekend maintaining the beach by bulking up the staging, conducting some repairs and getting a rough level ready for beach huts after Easter. Great to see the beach busy and to chat with people who came to see what we were up to. ☀️

We are preparing the tea hut ready to be open in the next few weeks. We will be selling the latest impulse ice creams along with the usual popular favourites. Here’s to a great Spring and Summer 😝☀️🏖
