To our Amazing Customers, It is with immense sadness that I have to inform you that from 1st October 2018, Block Party Events Ltd will cease trading and as such the Block Party Play Café in Bitterne will be closing its doors today, Sunday 30th September 2018. On Friday 14th September I received a non-negotiable bill of over £11,000 for business rates and with rent due for the next quarter and our day to day running costs the company was unable to pay the £25,000 due in Octob...er alone. It was not an easy decision to make and letting down my staff and the local community that have supported us has weighed heavily on me. My team, my family and I have fought hard to keep the play café running this last year and I have pulled upon every reserve possible to ensure staff were paid on time and bills were managed to the best of my abilities but it has not been enough and for that I am truly sorry to you all. I also apologise wholeheartedly that my staff were unable to be upfront with customers, they were put in a horrible position and are in no way at fault. Had news of our upcoming insolvency gone public we may have found that our access to the premise could have been compromised and then been unable to rearrange upcoming birthday parties with due notice. I was not prepared to let families down at the last minute if I was able to and so I delayed insolvency by the most I could to give us adequate time to make contact with families affected. Please note all affected families have been contacted and that the alternative plans we have made for them remain in place and will be honoured by myself separate from Block Party Events Ltd as will After School Clubs. In the last year I have loved meeting each and every one of you and being able to be a part of your time together as families and communities. It feels like we are losing so many friends and I hope if you see one of my team around you will let them know how you and your little ones are getting on. My team and I built an awesome space with we know was valued by you all and I thank each and every member of the team for giving so much of themselves and allowing me to watch them grow together and as individuals. I will miss Block Party but moreover I will miss the amazing people. Laura x

Today is the last time to participate in the #bitternebrickhunt. Maps will be sold until 4pm today and completed maps returned to us before the 20th will be entered into our prize draw for a host of goodies.

Yesterday saw the return of our After School Club at Bitterne Manor Primary School. Our Master Builders this week were Jake for his creative build and Harrison for his sturdy house. Who will be our KS2 Master Builders on Thursday?
