We visited yesterday for an Easter family gathering! Food was lovely, service was fab. I had one problem with my main meal but it was quickly sorted and dealt with very professionally. We will definitely be visiting again soon! :)

We had a super evening, good food and service couldn't have been better, Liam was a gem couldn't do enough. A mention to the unseen staff also well done

Pukka. Loved it, went for the 12 hour Brisket and wasnŌĆÖt disappointed, Mrs. Went for the Caesar Salad, once again, a triumph, Simon looked after our table and did a sterling job, good lad.



This is my new favourite place, itŌĆÖs rare to find somewhere so local to be so good, without travelling to the likes of Manchester or further afield.

Popped in as we were out and about and wanted a nice place for a drink and a light bite. Never been before but what a lovely place and excellent food . Gin menu is fabulous and the staff were lovely .

Our first visit (24/02/18)....absolutely loved it..... good beers...cocktails n honey jd.....fantastic food, was ribeye steak was perfect!! And very attentive and friendly staff.....we'll be back....soon!!!!

I am a professional travel/restaurant critic and Blockhouse is one of the best meals I have had in recent months. Our server Joanna was attentive and made sure my partners allergies were taken care of. We each had 3 corses, a bottle of Prosecco, after dinner cocktails and liquor coffees all for around ┬Ż58 per head. I thought it was very good value for the quality of the food. I look forward to coming back.

Found this place by accident when driving from Leicester to Glasgow and what a happy accident! The food was delicious, the staff were really friendly and the cocktails were amazing! Between the food and the cocktails I slept the whole way back to Glasgow! Oops! We will definitely be back!

Fanatic night for my dads 69th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble for our waiter Oli... the little things made a big difference... swapping the mushy peas for beans for my son, allowing my daughter to have a cucumber side, instead of a mix side salad.... helping us make our menu choices when we were undecided to what to pick, and constantly checking on us, catering to our needs, taking a family photo for us etc. ItŌĆÖs all those little things that create the whole experience. The food was outstanding - a meat eaters heaven! All beautifully presented, hot & delicious - can not fault a thing! The childrenŌĆÖs meal was a perfect portion, and my daughter devoured her wrap! Visited on friday night with my partner, very beautiful place with a lovely atmosphere but we found it very pricey for what it was, had to wait over 40 minutes between the starter and main with no explanation, and i was more than dissapointed with the cheese board considering it was nearly 9 pound, 2 vile smoky chesses and a tiny piece of another cheese with a few crackers thrown on the plate in my opinion does not make a cheese board, would we visit here again? I doubt it.

My husband and I went last night and when we arrived our table wasn't ready so we had a drink in the bar. My cocktail was lovely and a lot of care and attention went into making it. We were advised that the front of house guy would come and get us when our table was free...he didn't. He even forgot who we were when I reminded him that we were still waiting for our table 20 mins later. I reminded him as we had a time limit on our table for more diners later and we didn't want to be rushing our food.



When my burger arrived, the chicken was full of little red bloody veins. When I was advised by a waiter that I could eat it, I asked for the veins to be cut out as it did not look nice at all. My burger was returned to me exactly how I'd sent it back to the kitchen. I then ate the beef burger to discover a large bone in it. It was not good food at all. My husband had the cow and pig burger and there was hardly any burger to it at all, just all pulled pork.



For the price you pay, you don't expect there to be faults like that with your food. It was very busy and it seemed like all of the staff were so rushed off their feet that they were not quite on the ball with the service you would expect. We won't be returning, I'd rather pay those prices elsewhere and hope for a better experience.

There seemed to be a few empty tables, yet we were placed by the main door. Whenever people walked in we got a nice cold shiver to remind us how cold it was outside!



Ordering drinks seemed to be a bit of a pain also. Because of the new sugar tax, they no longer serve Pepsi/Coca Cola, only diet/max (whichever variant). I would have been more than happy to pay the difference for a non diet drink if it isnt too much trouble?! My girlfriend ordered Disarrono and Cranberry, and her mother ordered Disarrono and Coke, to be served Amaretto and Coke/Cranberry. At no point in ordering were they told it would not be Disarrono, and if they were told, they wouldnt have ordered that drink!



The starters were not bad and quite nice, however, portion sizes I thought were quite small.



The only saving grace was the main, which was really nice! However based on previously mentioned, I would not go back again!

I would have been more than happy to pay the difference for a non diet drink if it isnt too much trouble?! My girlfriend ordered Disarrono and Cranberry, and her mother ordered Disarrono and Coke, to be served Amaretto and Coke/Cranberry. At no point in ordering were they told it would not be Disarrono, and if they were told, they wouldnt have ordered that drink!



The starters were not bad and quite nice, however, portion sizes I thought were quite small.



The only saving grace was the main, which was really nice! However based on previously mentioned, I would not go back again!
