“My wonderful partner Cliff and my new-found love of painting got me through some very dark days.”
Linda turned to painting to help her recover from lymphoma and has never looked back. Her paintings are sold at a local café and money is donated to research because she wanted to give something back.

Our hearts are with the family and friends of Damary Dawkins who has died from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Damary received a blood stem cell transplant last Christmas following a campaign that urged people to sign up to the register. Sadly, he relapsed in February.
Damary is remembered for his love of football and kind-hearted nature. His journey has inspired many people to join the UK stem cell registry.
We know that donors save lives. If you are aged between 17 and 55, ...you can sign up too via: ⭕️Race Against Blood Cancer: www.raceagainstbloodcancer.com/join/ ⭕️DKMS UK: www.dkms.org.uk/en/register-now

I lost my hair twice. I went through 3 types of chemo, a stem cell transplant, 4 surgeries, candida tropicalis sepsis, countless hospital stays & scans.
I’m left with physical and mental scars but I’m here to tell you it does get better. #FeelAliveFriday” – Sam.
... Thank you for sharing such an honest #FeelAlive Sam.

“Cancer has taken a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. It took the person around whom our worlds turned.
Cancer has taken my son's grandmother, and her long-held dream of watching a grandchild grow up...”
In a moving story, Jo shares her journey with cancer and why she’s motivated to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon this Sunday. 👇

"When my dad was first diagnosed the word cancer was terrifying. I remember worrying that he wouldn't be able to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day. Thankfully that wasn't the case and it was such a special father-daughter moment. But in the summer of 2015 it all started to go wrong. Rapidly Dad's health deteriorated - in July we were climbing a mountain just shy of 3,000ft, by August he was in hospital."
Jo Swinson is running the London Landmarks Half Marathon this Sunday in memory of her father Peter who died last May. Read her story 👇

Just after Carina was diagnosed with blood cancer, she enjoyed a family trip to visit family before embarking on the biggest journey of her life.
"I’m smiling, which may seem odd given the circumstances, but it was a beautiful day and I’d been allowed to visit my dad before I started treatment...
For me, the Bloodwise forum means I never feel alone because there’s always someone there to talk to, who really understands. I can also impart my experiences - the bad and the good ...- and support others going through a similar thing.”

"Today, after 6 months of caring for me during the worst period of my life, my parents are heading back to Wales. They truly uprooted their lives in order to help save mine. If anything has been a silver lining to having cancer (!) then spending more time with these two certainly qualifies..." - Cerian.

"The news was totally unexpected and shocking… My blood tests showed I had a rare form of lymphoma called Waldenström macroglobulinaemia or WM... I was terrified, extremely confused and didn’t understand all the medical terms. My initial response was ‘how will we tell the boys?’. I felt very isolated, in fact I still do.”
Today is #RareDiseaseDay and we’re sharing Sara’s story on WM, a blood cancer that only 350 people are diagnosed with every year in the UK. Now in remission, Sara tells us what it was like having an uncommon and often misunderstood disease.

A game-changing test that can quickly predict how people with leukaemia will respond to chemotherapy, could change how some cancers are treated, Bloodwise-funded researchers say. 👇 https://bbc.in/2BU1PbG

“Hugo’s walking has improved so much since his end of treatment for leukaemia. Today, for the first time ever, he walked to school. Then, to show just how amazing his legs are, he walked home too. So proud and relieved at the progress he is making. This little man just blows me away!” – Lisa. 💛 We are so proud too. Go Hugo!

A wonderful, lifesaving charity! Without the scientific advances funded by Bloodwise, far fewer of us with blood cancer would still be here. And without their wonderful support, our lives with and after cancer would be a lot harder.

User

A fantastic charity raising awareness of blood cancer and offering valuable advice and support to patients in a very kind and personal way

10th July 2008 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma when my daughter was just 3 months old!! Things looked very bleak, the cancer was very aggressive and I was very scared!! I didn't even think I would see my daughter walk!! Because of such charities as this one and the research they do I beat the cancer in April 2009, I'm in remission now and I saw my daughters first foot steps, first day of school etc and even had my beautiful baby boy who turns one next month!! I want to thank everyone who helps with these charities and help raise awareness if it wasn't for you all I wouldn't be here and I wouldn't of seen my beautiful girl grow and have my gorgeous baby boy!! Thankyou again, and please everyone help and share to raise more awareness to help all those with the awful blood cancers!!xxx
