About Blue Cross Bromsgrove Rehoming Centre

The Bromsgrove centre opened in 1986 and is now one of our largest centres. Located in Catshill, Bromsgrove, it serves a wide base of the local community. The site operates from a former commercial boarding kennels, but has been completely rebuilt over the years. The original purchase of the site was largely due to a generous bequest from a local benefactor who recognised the need for an animal welfare presence in the area.
Our primary function is the intake and rehoming of both cats and dogs into new, loving homes. The kennel block has 25 dog kennels, and 9 cat units as well as an isolation unit for cats. The cattery was fully refurbished in March 2013.
We have a Pet Care Clinic on site, which provides subsidised Veterinary treatment to people on means tested benefits in the postcode catchment areas B60, B61, B97.
We also rehome cats and dogs through the Home Direct Rehoming Service which has now been rolled out across the organisation. This service means we can help more people rehome their pets without the need for their animals to come into a rescue environment.
We have a large team of dedicated volunteers and foster carers.
The Centre has 21 staff employed by Blue Cross, which consists of Centre Manager, a Deputy Manager, 3 Receptionist, a Volunteer Co-ordinator and a team of animal welfare assistants.

Only 24 hours to go now till the big day.
Plans well under way and looking forward to see you all tomorrow to experience the Car Boot and T Party - bring your dog along and do the dog walk for just for £5.
There will be some games to take part in and pick up a delicious samosa hand made by Samina & Les.
... It starts at 8am with Car Boot and T Party from 9am so spend some money in the boot and then chill with nice cuppa and piece of cake - great way to start the weekend.
See you all tomorrow and thanks in advance for the support for the animals.

A date for your diaries....Saturday 18th May... it's our annual Tea Party, Sponsored Dog Walk and the first car boot of the season, all at the rehoming centre in Wildmoor Lane on the front field (plenty of parking available) It's a great day, especially for the dogs, and there will be tea and cake, things to buy, and you can help raise funds for those animals still waiting for their forever homes <3
You can just turn up on the day and register for the dog walk, or if you'd li...ke to get sponsors we can email a sponsorship form out to you if you drop a request to bromsgrove@bluecross.org.uk

Just a quick update on Missy. As you can see she’s more than happy and healthy now, she has become the complete boss of our house and I’ve never known a Cat to be so affectionate and wants to be so close to people as much as Missy... " Missy never hides now, well apart from when the hoover comes out. We have even taught Missy to sit when asked, believe it or not?? Yes she still loves her food but she has calmed down a great deal in eating and doesn’t try to eat the whole lot ...in one go? Missy is very apprehensive regarding going out and will sit at the open back door but never goes out!!!
We wish you all the very best, many thanks"
What a fabulous update, and gorgeous photos <3
