Happy New Year! We have been enjoying a few trips out over the past couple of weeks - exploring a bit more of the amazing countryside on our doorstep!

We can’t believe that it is marmalade making season again! The kitchen smells devine and the first batch is ready for the breakfast tables!

We finally made it to Aira Force! What a wonderful experience - the sight, the sound - at one with nature! ... as well as stunning views over Ullswater ... Magnificent!

It's blooming lovely here in Penrith - and we have a little bee visiting our first sunflower! Here's also some of the smart new art work popping up around town!

A lovely addition to our back yard - one of the amazing creations from WILL It Fettle - check him out!

What a gorgeous gem of a place! Very friendly owners, fab breakfast, comfortable clean rooms. Stayed there on Sat night and we received a warm welcome, help with bags up to the rooms and lots of tasty home baking. Karen even gave us some extra flapjack to take away for the guys who were cycling the Coast 2 Coast route the next day upto Allenheads. Hope it continues to do well for you girls - you deserve it x

We visited for my birthday weekend. We were met with a lovely warm welcome and made to feel at home straight away. Our room was lovely and comfortable with a great hospitality tray with delicious home made tablet.

Penrith is lovely. Full of great gift shops and little cafes. We had a fabulous meal at the Dockray Hall nearby. We would highly recommend the Blue Swallow as nothing was to much trouble to make our stay memorable.

We stayed the night last night as a gift from my partners children. Lovely friendly welcome from Alison. We were early but our room was ready so we checked in early. Lovely clean room with a fantastic array on the hospitality tray. Breakfast was lovely - we had fruit & yoghurt then a full English. We also left with homemade flapjack for our journey.

We stayed here for two nights and loved the place. Karen and Alison were excellent hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The guest house is immaculate and the wee touches of home made tablet and baking just make it even more special. Bunty the dog also made us welcome.

We stayed at your lovely guest house last night. You made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere was spotless and breakfast was excellent. Special little touches included homemade fudge, flapjack and jam. Thank you both Glenys, Steve, Karen, Dave and Chris.

Myself and a bunch of pals stayed for one night on our recent coast to coast charity bike ride. Our hosts couldn't have done more, from the moment we arrived till the moment we left the service was first class. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast was great. Can highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

I stayed at the Blue Swallow for two nights, I arrived a stranger and left a friend. The service and hospitality from both Karen and Alison were exceptional.



The room was very clean and modern and good selection on the hospitality tray , good selection at breakfast and all fresh produce



My husband says thank you for the home made Scottish tablet it made his day

Great b&b run by a lovely couple who really care about what they do and their customers - stopped off during the Lakes Loop cycle route - brilliant n highly recommended
