On Saturday 13th April, 2 Of our girls, Stacey Elizabeth Barber and Emily Parker, are doing a skydive from Peterlee airfield, from 15,000ft, all in aid to raise money for CHUF (Children's Heart Unit Fund) and the Alzheimer's society. We had a brilliant time in Bluebell for New Years Eve. Staff were all friendly and happy, and the atmosphere was great. Tables were cleared regularly and it turned out to be well worth the visit after bumping into old pals I'd not seen in ages. One slight criticism though if I may be so bold..get some decent lager on draught? Sorry, but Fosters and Carling just doesn't cut the mustard anymore haha. Thanks!

This pub hosted a free Christmas party night for sea road Traders. My colleagues and I went and had a great time. The Staff are lovely. And we were made to feel very welcome. Great place, great people. Thank you Bluebell! �

Love our local, always has a wonderful atmosphere. Had a wonderful evening on 4th Feb for my 50th with my friends, we reserved the 'library corner' as we call it, was up again last evening with my husband and had a fab night, the staff are always friendly and helpful, there is always a good choice of real ales, the house wine isn't too bad a price for a bottle which is very easy to drink �

Had our little ones christening party in the bell yesterday. Exellent service from booking right through to the day itself. Buffet food was lovely, great choice of food and loads of it..and the hot food was piping hot. Lad working the bar was a star and nothing was a bother to him. Will deffo use again and recommend to others.

Great pub for years bar and lounge gives you the choice of where you want to be whether you are out for a laugh with the lads or a great pub lunch with the family. Great choice of beers and ciders, excellent food and friendly staff.

Called into the blue bell, the service was great and very friendly. The meal was fish and chips beautiful and nice and hot. Certainly recommend it.

Absolutley beautiful dinner and service from all staff! First Christmas dinner out and would make sure if we were to go out again for dinner on Christmas we would come here. Thanks to all the lovely and friendly staff x

Had Christmas lunch there yesterday with the family, lovely food lovely atmosphere. We were there last year and enjoyed it just as much. Only thing that could have been better was the puddings were cold. It was really tasty, and the staff super helpful.

What have you done to this once great pub .... fully set up for food and food alone.

As it stands as a pub its sterile its lost its charm its appeal. I drank in this pub for years and me and the wife where totally shocked when we walked in after 9pm to see it half empty and deathly silent almost.

Usually go here for food thru the week but decided to go for the carvery on Sunday to say I was disappointed was an understatement? Hardly any veg left only gammon and a pitiful looking piece of pork left so will not be doing a carvery here again. It hurts me to give this not so glowing review as my wife and I love this pub.

My husband and myself visited for the first time in a while. We both ordered the mixed grill, we were eating and I noticed that hubby had sausages and I didn't, queried this with the very unhelpful barmaid who said well you get one sausage. I explained I had none and was told, well he must have your sausages, not the response I was expecting. A little bit disgusted to say the least. No apologies, clearly not interested. Not a good impression. Won't be back in a hurry

Just been to a retirement do here tonight,the staff the buffet and the DJ were all great but you seriously need to invest in aircon for your function room or allow windows to open the heat in that room was ridiculous man,a lot of the party spent a lot of the time on the pavement outside to cool off it was that hot !!

Bit hit or miss sometimes the staff are attentive sometimes they a right bunch who don’t give a toss. I’ve been going to this place over 40 years and you can see the deterioration

Went for breakfast with a group of friends and a couple of our children this morning. When we went to order breakfast, including the sandwiches with a cuppa deal, we were told there were no hot drinks available. Apparently the coffee machine is awaiting repair & it's against health & safety regulations to use the kettle as it's next to the fryer????? Surely the solution to this would be to move the kettle.

So we ordered soft drinks. However, the staff member took pay for the meals that included the hot drinks then charged us additionally for the soft drinks. It took several minutes to get this resolved, during which time we noticed a table of ladies drinking pots of tea. When I asked how this was possible I was told the lady at the table was a staff member & had made her own pot of tea. Surely a breach of previously stated health and safety regulations? We were all left feeling bewildered by this with no acceptable explanation.

We won't be returning.

Visited the blue bell with my girlfriend for the first time I ordered lasagne which when it arrived it looked like it had been sat all day n warmed back up I payed basically payed 9 pound for bowl of chips as I left the lasagne but overall it is a nice pub atmosphere wise but won't be visiting any time soon.

Very disappointed with the quality of food I received today. The burgers used to be delicious now they are just tasteless. No burger sauce or bacon on the burger. Really disappointed. Will not rush back

Usually like the Bluebell but was disappointed when went for tea yesterday, we both had fish and chips and the fish was over cooked and rubbery with no taste. We both left our fish and when the table was cleared the waitress asked if everything had been alright. My husband pointed out the problem with the fish to which we were told we should have spoken up sooner, she then asked if anyone had checked back with us while we were eating to which we said no. The reply to this was aw well!!!! To make matters worse we then both had dessert my chocolate fudge cake had obviously been microwaved to death, dried out, hot in parts, cold in others. Didn't bother to complain after the lack of interest in the main course complaint.

Well we were rudely thrown out for no reason, me and some friends had just been to vets for pets I had a bearded dragon in a box ready to take home some one asked what was in so I showed them without taking it out of the carrying box then manager or some Cockey get says can you leave please we serve food here, we were not near the kitchen we were no where near food we were in a corner we and it was doing no harm to other people, the only way it could have is if we had gone into the kitchen and let him run all over the food!!! We were treat rather unfairly therefore I give this bar a 1 if 0 was an option I'd give it that!!

I have avoided this pub for years due to repeated poor quality food. Tonight my partner suggested we give it another chance. Sorry to say it hasn’t changed at all- in fact, it’s worse! One meal ordered was the Yorkshire pudding wrap. Beef was awful, over cooked and crusty and the Yorkshire pudding was so chewy I can only assume it was days old. Peas were totally undercooked and gravy was watery. We also ordered the upgraded chip shop platter- curry sauce completely cold, fish was watery and bland and tiny compared to promotional pictures, looked more like half a portion of fish and half a sausage. On the plus side... my son liked his cheeseburger... but then, he will eat anything with cheese on it so it’s not much of recommendation. Diet Pepsi was okay though. Will not be returning, years to sort out poor food standards and clearly nothing has been done. I’ve just read a review from below too which says similar about the Yorkshire pudding wrap, obviously feedback is ignored. Disappointed to say the least.
