SPOTLIGHT TIME! Meet one of our Oswestry senior care workers, Rachel Jones. Rachel joined our team back in March 2017 and we knew we wanted to offer her a role as a senior once she had completed her probation period. Rachel tells us that she 'really enjoys meeting lots of different people and making their lives easier and supporting them.' Rachel also says that 'seeing them happy makes me happy'. We know her customers look forward to her visits and we are very fortunate to have Rachel as one of our seniors. Thank you for everything that you do Rachel.

We received this beautiful card this morning when Eliza popped in to say 'goodbye'. Eliza worked for us around her university degree and was a very fun member of our care team. We loved having Eliza with us and she has asked if she can come back to us if her future allows. We would love that and I am sure our customers would too. Thank you Eliza and good luck in everything you do.

We are very happy to announce that we are launching 'A Gift Of A Wish'. 'A Gift Of A Wish' is an opportunity for customers to take part in an activity close to their heart. This will create an opportunity for our care staff to talk with our customers and reminisce about things that can help create future memories. Photographed here is Tracey who has kindly painted the wishing tree. We will place leaves on the tree with our customers wishes and do our best to make them happen 😁

Come and support a charity fun day for Stroke Association Shropshire! 😃 A team of young adults from NCS - National Citizen Service are holding a fundraising day for Stroke Association. This is a charity that doesn’t have as much recognition compared to others, and it has helped some of the team members personally. The team feel this is the perfect opportunity to give time and effort back to such a wonderful charity.
The fundraising day will be held at Shrewsbury Football Ground tomorrow 28th July, there will be music, bouncy castles, football matches for ages 10-17, glitter makeup stalls, raffles, cake stall and hot/cold beverages and nice snacks! Donation for the entry fee is a minimum of 50p. Also, a donation would be absolutely amazing to help them reach the goal of £1000, www.justgiving.com/Ncscharity.

This is fantastic! 😁 our care assistant Barbara Stevens is aiming to walk 1 million steps between 1st July and 30th September 2018 in memory of a wonderful customer. Barbara has done 283.57K steps so far and her aim is to raise as much money as possible for Diabetes UK.
"I am doing this in memory of a very special man that I had the pleasure of knowing, he was an inspirational man who touched the lives of so many young people in Church Stretton being an athletic coach. He s...uffered from type 1 diabetes. We sadly lost him to this disease but his memory will always be alive in our hearts and in our minds. If I could please ask everyone to just donate a pound to this wonderful cause I would be very grateful"

SPOTLIGHT TIME! Meet our senior care worker James who has been with Bluebird Care since April 2015. James came from a background in the care industry and his knowledge and customer focus stood out. James tells us his future goal is to start his QCF Level 5. He enjoys 'making someone's day with a smile' and ' to see people in their own home and still having independence in their life with the choices they make and being able to help them carry this out as a Bluebird Senior'. We are privileged to have James as part of our senior care team.
