The weekend may be over but there's no rest for the wicked down here at the Blues Bar and we're starting all over again this Tuesday with Vince Lee and Al Wallis playing from 10pm
It may be the week before bank holiday but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get yourselves down here for some live music. The Faux Furs are kicking off at 10pm and playing late into the night
This Friday sees the return of Jack Bartlett to our stage. Fans of mod rock and britpop won’t be disappointed. Starting at the usual start time of 10pm and playing late into the night.

This Wednesday we have our monthly break from the Open Mic night and welcome back the outstanding Gozer Goodspeed to our stage.
He'll be kicking off at 9pm and our kitchen is open as always from midday.
The Blues and Jazz Festival may finish at 6pm but we’re throwing a little after party down here at the Blues Bar. No need to rush off Home. @pl1events #barbican #plymouth
It’s here. Brave the weather and get yourselves down here. You know you want to.
This weekend we once again have the fantastic Blues and Jazz festival right on our doorstop and just because the music finishes on the stage around 10pm that doesn't mean the night is over.
This Friday we have the fantastic Lottie Bolt taking to the stage as soon as the music finishes outside.
The stage is going up and tomorrow is the day! The fantastic Ocean City Blues and Jazz Festival is back and it’s looking to be a great three days of live music. @plymouthbarbican #bluesandjazzfestival2018 #livemusic
Down here tomorrow we have the Blues and Jazz festival. So don't worry you'll get your fill of the Blues from there, so for a change this Thursday we're having the fantastic Jay Carter playing you his fantastic mix of folk and pop covers. If you're looking for a chilled start to the weekend there really will be no better place.
It's hump day. Mid week. Wednesday's are the night of our open mic. If you play and want a place to practice in front of an audience this is the place. If you fancy a night of free music and a bite to eat then guess what, this is also the place. Our kitchen is open and serving from midday.
This Friday sees the return of The Blues and Jazz Festival down here on the Barbican. That means three whole days of live music outside on their main stage. It also means three nights of live music with us here at The Blues Bar. So, if you're popping down, why not come inside and join us as soon as the music has finished on the main stage and carry on the evening.
This weekend may be the Blues and Jazz festival down here on the barbican but that shouldn't mean you miss out on your weekly dose of Vince and Al. Kicking off at 10pm as usual they'll be cranking out the Blues till midnight.

Went here for my friends 40th meal. Staff were lovely, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and the food was great We all said we’d definitely go back xx
We were on a day trip to Plymouth from Bristol and popped in for lunch because of the name. the piped music was great, the food was good and I am determined to catch some live music there when I visit for the weekend soon.
We had a lovely time at blues bar. We had a Groupon deal on the burgers and they were fantastic. We also went all out and had drinks and dessert, from the main course to deserts the food was fantastic. They staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. They even put little touches to the table like a rose and candle Over all a lovely evening. Will most certainly be coming again.
Superb acoustic entertainment from Chris and the food was to die for 🤗👏
Service was stunning in the blues bar tonight and the food and rhubarb gin was amazing!
Popped into the Blues bar on Saturday night on the off chance of getting a meal in the restaurant...met Scott, the General Manager, and he said he would see what he could do......within a minute he had returned and said there was a table available. WOW...the restaurant is top notch, very clean and excellent décor, harping back to the 20's, beautiful. I could have ordered the whole menu, as everything sounded wonderful. The Waiting staff were very attentive and very well presented. The food was outstanding and if you have a healthy apatite, portion size is not a problem. Can see myself visiting this restaurant again and again. And too top it all, there is live, top of the range music in the bar, all this in a very welcoming and very friendly bar....what more could you ask for. 10/10.
Nice spacious bar with good food, need a change then worth checking out.
My family and I go to the Blues bar every time they come down to visit. It has become quite a regular occurrence and I must say all the times we have been there they never disappoint. Food is always outstanding and the service from the staff is always brilliant. Would recommend to anyone.

This bar is our favourite bar in The Barbican. We have spent many sunny afternoons people watching over a bottle or two of Rose wine. Staff are great, service is great, food is great. Overall a fantastic place to visit

Always go to the Blues Bar when bringing, visiting or fetching my daughter from Plymouth university. Love the staff, food, and fab music. It has a lovely atmosphere and if you sit upstairs by the window you have a lovely view of the Barbican. Long way to go from South Wales but well worth it.
Sally from Bridgend.
Never eaten here, but always have a great night, with the band's that play there, can't fault the atmosphere.
Everyone seems to have a cracking time, never seen any trouble at this place, must be a testimony to the punters and staff

Friendly staff, nice food and helpful when asked for dairy free information. Hope to visit again soon 😁
After reading all the 4/5 star reviews me and a friend who's visiting Plymouth decided to grab some lunch. Service was awful. The poor girl behind the bar was the only one who had a clue what she was doing, the lad that served us... if it wasn't his first day working there then he should be let go. Zero concept of customer service. When our loaded potato skins showed up they were delicious so we thought it was just a bad day. However the steaks we ordered medium were so cooked they may as well have been Very Well Done, the blue cheese butter had separated and was basically just melted butter. Although the garlic bread side was delicious, so maybe swap the chef's roles... All in all we're very disappointed, especially given that it worked out at £70 for two people for lunch. Food not good and bad service. Won't be back again sadly.
