About Blundellsands United Reformed Church

The United Reformed Church was formed in 1972 when the Congregational Churches and the Presbyterian Churches in England joined together. Later, the Churches of Christ , and the Congregational Church in Scotland joined this grouping.
This fellowship was founded in 1897 as a preaching station of the Presbyterian Church of England, meeting in Alexandra Hall. Late it became Blundellsands Presbyterian Church, worshipping in a temporary iron church near Blundellsands station and since 1905 has occupied its' present site on the corner of Warren Road and The Serpentine. Presbyterian Churches have traditionally attracted many members of Scottish, Irish and Welsh decent.
