Bolton Hospice

About Bolton Hospice

Providing expert care & support for the people of Bolton who have terminal and life-limiting illnesses, and their families. We're an independent charity, and our services are free.

Bolton Hospice Description

Our team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide specialist care and support for local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home.

We provide care throughout a patient’s illness, so they achieve the best possible quality of life. This includes end of life care, helping them to achieve a good death.

We're a charity mainly funded by local people. Together we need to raise around £4 million a year to continue to provide our services for free.

We just had to share this amazing story from Ross and Catherine Dunning....an inspiring story of survival and love 💕
"In January 2017 we were involved in a very serious car accident in South Africa whilst on holiday. We were both injured and I spent 12 weeks in hospital, 6 weeks of which I was in intensive care on a life support machine.
My wedding ring was lost during this time, so on our 48th wedding anniversary we had a Celebration of Life event with friends and family.
... We renewed our wedding vows at Rivington Church in May and asked for donations to Bolton Hospice and Derian House.
We pray that this gift will be both a blessing and of benefit for the tremendous work you do at the hospice for which we thank you."
Please join us in congratulating this beautiful, timeless couple and thank you both for your kindness! We are so happy you had the strength to recover Catherine and you made the most beautiful bride both times round!

User

There are times when you need help in an extraordinary way.. general hospitals are not equipped enough ..Only places like Bolton Hospice can provide the kind of care and attention that helps both the patient and their family at their most desperate time.. I cannot thank everyone enough for their kindness that certainly made mums journey onwards easier to bear.

User

The staff at Bolton Hospice are just amazing. The care and support they gave my aunt and us, as a family, during her last days was unbelievable. They made a sad event a little easier and we will be forever grateful to them all. Nothing was a problem whatsoever. You are all truly angels in disguise

The hospice is the most amazing place they not only give people the quality of life they deserve they also look after the patients family both my dad and uncle were patients at the hospice my dad was lucky enough to be able to pass away at home with my mum myself both of my brother and my auntie with him but this would not have been possible if it wasn't for the excellent care the hospice gave him at home xxxx

User

The hospice is a kind loving warm place, they cared for my mum in her final days and i am extremely grateful. Thankyou Bolton hospice.xxxx

User

My nan was here last year, where she unfortunately died. The hospice were amazing. They looked after all of us. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They were always on hand to ask if we were ok and any questions we had. They answered honestly. I have so much respect for the nurses, doctors and volunteers there. They should be proud because it's a tough and emotional job being there towards the end of someone's life. Not everyone can do it. But they certainly helped me and I'll never be more grateful for the care and compassion they showed me and my family, and of course my nan who they made sure was comfortable right until the end.

User

My mum passed away at Bolton Hospice in 2012, the care she received whilst she was there was outstanding. Not only did they make my mum feel as comfortable as possible but they also took good care of me and my family and for that I'll be eternally grateful. Keep up the good work

User

Both my mother and father got the best care possible.

My father went to the daycare centre and was upset when told he could not come again as he had made a full recovery and their resources were limited. But he had happy memories of the time that he spent there.

All the staff could not have done more for them.

Thank you.

User
