Wonderful building, a great place to take the children to expand their little minds.

Great museum with some great exhibits, from animals to Egypt to the history of Bolton itself. Their aquarium is very child friendly where they have feeding shows of their fish like the sting rays and piranhas. Helpful and friendly staff.

Decent for first time. Not a place for repeat visit

This is the only nice place in the whole of Bolton. Fantastic museum and a great library. Great for kids, both young and old. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Shame about the rest of the town centre.

Great place, but getting to the car park is a bit of a problem, you are better of walking.

Hey, I know the Tory's hate public spending but this aquarium sure needs a bit of funding! It's drab, it's half empty and not change a bit since I was a nipper. This is not to complain about the Library / Museum I am certain they do the best they can. But if Counciller ... head reads this get your Asons money put into this lovely building and give this aquarium a spruce up.

I keep many tropical fish so made a special day to visit one of the last remaining public aquaria and visit a town I'd never been to. The aquarium is great if you want to see something out of the ordinary my personal favourites where the sulawasi setup and the celestial pearl danio/galaxy rasbora tank. It's a great example of how to create something beautiful with limited tank space, a good planted aquascape and complimentary species created a lovely pair of tanks. I'd like to see a couple of benches in the aquarium to take my time to see the dynamic of the tank but I was very happy with my trip.

A brilliant public place... some thing for all ages to entertain

Great if you have kids under 10 and it's free. Can easily spend 1 hour looking at all the displays and aquarium.

Definately worth a visit. Plenty of things for all different interests. There is a T-Rex skull, a replica of the Rosetta stone and lots of paintings.
