Over 63 metres of wallpaper (at over 3 meters high!) fill our 'Land and People' gallery with bespoke illustrations, telling the story of every aspect of Egyptian life as represented through the variety of artefacts on display.

Our new 'Land and People' gallery is the largest and brightest gallery space in #BoltonsEgypt.
This room is a vivid celebration of life in Ancient Egypt. Five large glass archways are filled with artefacts relating to the everyday lives of Ancient Egyptian people.
You can walk beneath the arches, with mass displays of objects surrounding you, whilst the sounds of life create an evocative atmosphere of river sounds, bird calls, voices, music and children playing.

Bolton Museum reopened to the public on Saturday 22nd September 2018, with five new galleries dedicated to Ancient Egypt.
With 10,000 visitors to #BoltonsEgypt on its first day, it has already been a roaring success!

Join us for a free film and free popcorn for our May Boltons Egypt Cinema at the Crescent! This month we're showing the classic 1942 - The Mummy's Tomb! This is a free event and there's not need to book. Free parking on the Crescent after 6pm!

Tonight's talk by Joyce Tyldesley has been rescheduled due to the bad weather. It will now take place on Thursday 15 March at 7pm in the Lecture Theatre.

As it is now Christmas Day in some parts of the world Bolton’s Egypt would like to wish everyone a very happy holidays!

Join us tomorrow evening (Thursday 7th) at 7pm as #BoltonsEgypt welcomes Carl Graves, Deputy Director of the Egypt Exploration Society!
Carl will talk about how the EES was formed and how it helped to discover some of the amazing Ancient Egyptian objects that now belong to #Bolton.
It's FREE and no need to book! ...just turn up to the Bolton Library between 6.30pm and 7pm to get a seat.
