Special wartime food to match… And The Hitchhiker (1953) Ida Lupino.
... Today the Thames riverboat pilots tell the story of Waterloo Bridge being built by women during the Second World War. Official history had written this story out as Historian Dr Christine Wall discovered after years of trawling through archives. In 2005 she was joined by film-maker Karen Livesey to pursue the story through oral history. We set out to find these women, The Ladies Bridge documentary explores why these bridge builders and 25,000 other female construction workers had been written out of history. It was not until 2015, with the find of threee photographs and a crucial interview from the documentary, that womens’ contribution to the building of the bridge was officially acknowledged.Producers: Jo Wiser & Karen Livesey

We had an amazing evening fully immersed in talent, history and fabulous company. The story told in song of the history of one small building and many occupants was beautiful.

Angelic voices and talented musicians draw you into their fascinating world, I would highly recommend Bon- Bane’s and very much look forward to going back and sharing the experience with more of my friends.

Oh and I forgot to mention there is food which was also part of the performance and it was lovely.

The most unique restaurant experience I've ever had, all within a Belgian atmosphere! Everybody is welcomed in like you are part of the family, and served the most delicious Belgian ales, exotic foods, (if you like potatoes, make sure that you ask for the Stoemp! It will free your soul!)

Come the dusk, truly brilliant music hidden away in dark corners where people have been known to get lost, appearing hours later with knowing smiles and a drink in their hands...
